The kit had everything I needed to start binding my own traveller's notebook inserts. I've used the majority of the tools provided, plus the waxed cord really looks tidy beside the bound pages. The awl is sharp, making it easy to pass through paper, cardstock and vinyl mat material. I'm sure it will pass through leather, but haven't had the opportunity yet.It comes with lots of dull ended needles to pass the thread through the holes you poked with the awl. The kit has really made my bookbinding experiences more pleasant than struggling with tools not made for the task.It was a great purchase and I've been using it at least once a week now. I've made several notebooks for my traveller's notebook.

Kind of ruins the perfect little holes you've made using the awl. This kit is okay for beginners, but the large eye needles are frustrating unless you like a "homemade" or kid-made look to your books because the large holes are sloppy. They're easy to thread, sure.The thread colors are different, too. Not what is shown in photo. I'm aware of differences in monitors and I'm talking about completely different colors of two of them.

Overall, it's a good value for the money. You get ample thread and tools. However the needles are not to my liking. They are a bit too wide and dull.

This was a nice and complete set if you want to start a bookmaking project. They give you a good variety of colors and amount of waxed thread.

I bought these tools to help me start my bookbinding project and they work. This kit had everything I really needed and I would recommend getting this kit!

This kit comes with everything I needed to make travelers notebooks. It's the perfect kit to get you started binding books.

I'm a bigger and this is working very well for me. I like the choice of threads.

I used this product for making hand sewn journals.I like this product because it has everything I need and its reasonably priced. Bookmaking is new to me and I use everything, in the kit.Recommended.

If you're looking for quality items that will last for long, don't buy this kit. I was surprised by how cheap and flimsy the items where but then again, you get what you pay for.

Have not used yet, but this set includes all I will need to bind my journals.
