Great Deck For Exploring The Constellations!
This is a great deck for learning about the constellations. On the front of each card is a diagram of a constellation on a blue background. On the back is the name of the constellation, an image of the mythological creature it represents with the constellation superimposed over it, its position and area, brightest star and number of visible constituent stars, zodiac sign (if applicable), and notes on the constellation's origin and history. I bought this deck for my 3.5 year old who's really into stars right now. He uses the warrior cards like Hercules and Orion to fight against the animals like the bear and the snake. That helps him to memorize who they are and what they represent. The cards are glossy which makes them stick together the first time you pull them out of the deck. They measure 3 1/4" x 4", perfect size for holding in your hands while stargazing at night. This deck contains 48 of the 88 recognized constellations in the sky - so not every constellation, but the more popular ones are there including all 12 signs of the zodiac. Here's a list of what's included:Andromeda, Aquarius, Aquila, Ara, Aries, Auriga, Bootes, Cancer, Canis Major, Canis Minor, Capricornus, Cassiopeia, Centaurus, Cephus, Cetus, Corona Australis, Corona Borealis, Corvus, Crater, Crux (Southern Cross), Cygnus, Delphinus, Draco, Equuleus, Eridanus, Gemini, Hercules, Hydra, Leo, Lepus, Libra, Lupus, Lyra, Ophiuchus, Orion, Pegasus, Perseus, Pisces, Piscis Austrinus, Sagitta, Sagittarius, Scorpius, Serpens, Taurus, Triangulum, Ursa Major, Ursa Minor and Virgo. These cards are highly recommended not only for the boy warrior, but also the novice astronomer or anyone who wants to know more about the constellations!

Great quality!
These cards are great quality. They seem to be water resistant, although I haven't tested them. Very informative!

These are basis constellation flash cards
Nothing fancy, but for the price I like these cards. They'll show up under red light if that's what you're using (so that you don't lose your night vision). I can do show and tell with the grand-kids. There's a couple of paragraphs on the back of each card about the constellation's mythology and about its special features--like its brightest star, etc. We're also told whether it's in the southern or northern hemisphere. On the plus side, also, you're shown the constellation without the mythological feature drawn around it on the card front and with the mythologic feature on the printed side. The minus: even with all of the above, these are really plain cards. .

The more you know...
My husband and I are avid campers and enjoy backpacking so we wanted to learn more about the stars as guides. It has really been a fun bonding experience learning the constellations and the mythological stories behind them really help us to remember what they look like and their locations. Great buy!
