Destination Forks: The Real World Of Twilight [DVD]

I wouldn't say this movie isn't worth watching, I would just say that I wouldn't pay very much to watch it, and I certainly don't think its worth owning (mine's going up on eBay soon). I rented "Twilight in Forks" before this one and that one is worse. The first part of this movie is filmed in Forks, interviews with the owners of the homes, tour companies, restaurant owners, and tourists. The second piece is basically interviews of Twilight fans and the owners of the popular Twilight websites. I also enjoyed this part, made me feel better I'm not the only 30-something Twilight fan :) The last part was very bad. They called it "Moods" and it was basically 20 minutes of bad music accompanied by shots of nature in Washington (I'm not even sure it was Forks). It really wasn't relavant to the content of the movie and I didn't understand why they didn't use the last 20 minutes for something more Twilight related, like interviews with the actors or Ms Meyer, etc. Anyway, worth watching but not paying for......lol

It was just Ok. I don't know what I really expected. I loved the series and thought that this DVD would show me more of where the movies were actually filmed. I am glad that the people of Forks are prospering from the series but kind of sorry that bI bought this DVD.

The beginning is cool. I have visited Forks twice now and fun to go back, but the ending was a lot boring.

I was disappointed in this one. The first half of the video you follow the truck Forks uses as Bella's around the town to see a few points of interest and listen to some of the locals talk. That part is OK for the Twilight fan. The waste come in with the second part, several minutes worth of nature that doesn't seem to have much to do with Forks or Twilight. It might be pretty and it isn't desert but it has no value.Destination Forks is a better "tour" video over all.

What I love about this film is the Directors attention to detail in the landscape. Capturing the beauty of Forks, the rain forest, the ocean, the land, and the lifestyle. Giving just enough history. A creative way of making one feel as if you are actually there, experiencing the true essence of Forks, in all it's wonderous glory. Magical!

I bought it thinking that it was going to have more images of the protagonists, and more images of the zone of Forks and the environs that visits, but ends up being a video where they interview to the fanatics of the series

Though I couldn't get through the Twilight books, I enjoyed the films, and was curious about the locations so I rented then bought this interesting "tour" through the real Forks, WA. I'm sure any film fan would enjoy the details of the town, and the fan interviews are pretty engaging. But hats off to the folks who actually LIVE in Forks for putting up with all the Twilight mania.

FOR WHAT IT IS WORTH I RATED IT 5 BECAUSE OF THE TOWNS PEOPLES LOVE FOR TWILIGHT. I THOUGHT IT WAS ANOTHER SEQUEL TO THE SERIES. IT WAS INTERESTING TO WATCH IT AND LISTEN TO THE TOWN FOLK SHARE HOW THEY FELT ABOUT THE SERIES IN THE IMPACT IT HAD ON THEIR HOME. I HAVE ACTUALLY WATCHED IT A COUPLE OF TIMES.

Also für alle, die sich erst ein Bild machen wollen, ehe sie sich die DVD zulegen, gibts hier jetzt einen Überblick. Ich habe die DVD "Twilight in Forks", nicht gesehen, kann also nur über "Destination Forks" berichten!Nach einem kurzen Zusammenschnitt von ansprechenden Naturszenerien von Forks, wird man den Bewohnern vom "Swan House" vorgestellt. Sie erzählen einige Anekdoten zu ihren Erfahrungen mit Twilight Fans und darüber wie ihr Haus in den Mittelpunkt des Interesses gerückt ist, was recht lustig ist. Es gibt auch eine Blitzführung durchs Haus - wer sich hier aber genau umschauen möchte, sollte bei jedem Zimmer von der Pausentaste Gebrauch machen...Als nächstes folgt dann "Jacobs Haus", wo wiederum die Eigentümerin, die selbst großer Twilight-Fan ist, von ihren Erfahrungen erzählt. Auch hier gibt es wieder nur rasche Innen-Ansichten. (Gut, die Häuser sind bewohnt, wer will schon, dass sein Heim en Detail weltweit erkundet wird...)Als Nächstes kommen das "Cullen-Haus" - welches übrigens ein B&B Haus ist, in dem man übernachten kann - und das "Krankenhaus".Das Cullen-Haus aus der Doku, entspricht nicht dem Haus aus dem Film, sondern der Hausbeschreibung aus den Büchern (und ist daher natürlich auch viel schöner). Die Anekdoten, die die jetzigen Eigentümer über das Haus zu erzählen haben, sind recht spannend. Die Frage bleibt, ob es bei einem der früheren Besitzer tatsächlich derartige Parallelen zu Carlisle gab, oder ob die Geschichte zu Tourismuszwecken geschönt, bzw. erdichtet ist...Der Besuch im Krankenhaus ist nur kurz, weil eben auch nicht sehr spektakulär.Dafür ist das Bella Italia in Port Angeles sehr interessant, und auch eher detailliert beschrieben. Auch hier erzählt der Besitzer von seinen ersten Begegnungen mit Fans, die sich über Vampire unterhielten und Pilzravioli bestellten, obwohl es die damals nur zur Saison gab - hat definitiv einen Spaßfaktor.Zwischen den Orten und Befragungen der Eigentümer, werden immer wieder Fans interviewt (auch aus Deutschland!), was mehr ein Lückenfüller ist. Die Strecke von Port Angeles nach Forks wird im Zeitraffer kurz gezeigt, und es gibt auch einige Bilder und Anekdoten zu Wald und Wetter, sowie einzelne Blicke auf La Push (und zwar NUR auf den Strand!)Zum Abschluss, gibt es dann wieder Fanbefragungen, sowie Interviews mit Gründern einiger Twilight-Fansites - was meiner Meinung nach eher überflüssig ist.Fazit:Als echter Twilightfan, muss man die DVD gesehen haben, besonders wenn man selbst einmal nach Forks fahren möchte.Was mir allerdings gefehlt hat, sind Bilder vom Reservat, Anekdoten über die Quileute, sowie ein Einblick IN die Forks Highschool. Auch wären mehr "Umgebungsbilder" schön gewesen. Ob es nun an einer mangelnden Drehgenehmigung lag, oder was auch immer, es ist schade das die DVD nicht ganz komplett ist ohne diese Standorte und Details - also nur vier von fünf Sternen!Edit:Auf der DVD "Twilight in Forks" gibt es einige der oben genannten, fehlenden Einblicke; z.B. die Higschool von innen und jede Menge Material über die Quileute. Am Besten als perfekte Ergänzung gleich mitbestellen!

For a hardcore Twilight fan, this might offer a little value. There are better documentaries on the subject out there.

Nett gemachte Doku über Forks und die Geschichte der Vampire aus den Filmen der Saga. Für Fans ein Muß !!!

die dvd ist spannend, und lustig, und interessant, also für jeden twilight ein muss. ich persönlich bin froh sie mir gekauft zu haben.

Diese DVD ist ziemlich lahm; zu viele Interviews mit diversen Twilight-Fans; der Sinn der DVD kam nicht wirklich rüber; der Bezug zum Wesentlichen (Gebäude, Stadt etc) fehlte
