Excel Scientific and Engineering Cookbook: Adding Excel to Your Analysis Arsenal

I really just wanted a quick intro to VBA, but I learned a lot more from this book. I highly recommend it in general, especially if youre in an engineering field. Book seems brand new other than the damage noted on the listing. Very happy :)

Forget how to do an ODE in excel? What about statistics? Optimization? This book has them all in a clearly written format. Don't expect to understand the underlying computer science or programming in VBA, this book is a cookbook, you simply follow the instructions. Great supplement to any excel course or any science/engineering course that uses Microsoft Excel to perform calculations.

There are a ton of valuable methods included in this book and the steps for implementing are very clear. The only trick (like any other recipe book) is remembering all the good stuff that's in here.In the 5 years I've owned it, it has improved my analysis or showed a way to do an analysis 5 or 6 times. These are the times were you are just stymied and are going to the bookshelf for inspiration or in desperation.

Mr. Bourg writes so well. I didn't have to be at my computer yet I was still able to follow and enjoy what I was learning. His writing style is so personable and down to earth. This book came in handy for the "Allied Science" person performing Quality Control charts and giving them pizzazz.

The Book Excel Científica e Engenharia Cookbook looks very good, only now should be to Office 2007 or 2010, because that is targeted for 2003.O livro Excel Científica e Engenharia Cookbookaparenta ser muito bom, só que já deveria ser para o Office 2007 ou 2010, porque esse é voltado para o 2003.

This book is the perfect companion if you want to use MS Excel for automated test reporting, calculations and all other stuff you usually do with more suitable tools. ;)

The book amended other books on the subject and should be considered. The cookbook is a good stepping stone for developing tie programs that are required for specific needs.

No Excel spreadsheets included

The book is brilliant. I have been using Excel for many years, but the Cookbook has introduced a very useful range of new scientific applications for this easy-to-use program.

Das Buch liefert wertvolle Hinweise zum Lösen von Ingenieuraufgaben mit EXCEL. Besonders wertvoll waren für mich die Anleitungen zum repetativen Einsatz des Solvers mit VBA. Leider kann auch dieses Buch nicht aufzeigen, wie man an wertvolle Zwischenergebnisse heran kommt. So interessieren mit der zunehmenden Anwendung der Zuverlässigkeits-Theorie im Ingenieurwesen die Ableitung der Lösung nach den Unbekannten sowie dieser nach den Einflussgrössen. Vielleicht liegt dies daran, dass Microsoft diese Informationen nicht zugänglich macht.Isidor Storchenegger

Sehr gutes Nachschlagewerk für praktische Probleme aus dem Bereich wissenschaftlich technischer Anwendungen mit Excel.Sehr gut strukturiert, macht das Arbeiten damit einfach.
