Best Pins for Longarm Quilting
Can you get excited about pins for quilting? Seriously? The answer is YES. You'd never know if you have never used pins that are terrible. Dull points, too short, bend easily, small head. No fun.But these pins are the right length, the right sharpness, and stiff enough to retain their shape even when being rolled up on the take up reel of a Longarm Quilting Frame. But, anyone looking to buy pins already knew this. They're called "Magic Pins" for a reason. IYKYK. If you've never owned these, you will discover the utopia of pinning a backing fabric and batting and pieced top faster and more accurately with less hassle than ever before.

Love 'em!
Been quilting for decades and have used long pins for years. But I like the feel of these tops and they are much sharper than standard pins.

Glad I switched
I love the slender shafts of the pins, and the blue ends make them easy to pick up and put in place.

Has some solid selling points with potential drawbacks
The heads of these pins are easy to grip to and are more visible when you drop one, although I have not had them long enough to assess how well they remain attached. The wire is flexible but it does not hold the bend, which I do love - comparable to a Tulip hand sewing needle - but I appreciate that this may be a property someone else could absolutely hate. The pins themselves are decent. The manufacturer calls these "fine" but I would not; they seem to be a very standard diameter but they do have an "extra fine" option in a shorter pin length. The length of these is on par with anything labeled "quilting pins".The tips are sharp for piercing but the shafts don't feel smooth; there is some resistance from most of them, even when only pinning two layers of quilting cotton. I will try running them through the emery on my pincushion to see if that helps. Using a wool pincushion may also help.
