An amazing biography of an amazing man. So many difficult medical issues that plagued his life starting at a very young age. This book shows how one can overcome and live a good, happy life.

This is a very, very inspirational book. It is hard to put it down. Aharon Margalit went through so much in his life and he has such a great attitude. It is translated from the original Hebrew, and I believe that they did a good job. (I never read the original, but this one flows nicely and doesn't have any awkward sentences or parts that don't make sense.)I only gave it 4 stars because he spent chapters and chapters and chapters on his various illnesses. He had something else happen to him later in the book, almost to the end. He spent 2 1/2 pages on it. Maybe it was too painful for him to talk about openly, but for me, in my circumstance, this would have been the most beneficial part. For me, it was very disappointing not to see him expand on how he coped with this situation.I did com away with a lot of chizuk, and I find myself thinking of him when I have some difficult situations arise. So in that sense, the book did make a big impact on my life, which is what the g'dolim he consulted wanted done.

This is probably the single most amazing book I have ever read. Aharon Margolit suffered from polio as a child and was placed on a shelf in an institution with no hope of recovery. Through faith and tenacity he did recover, and now travels the world inspiring others with his tale. It's a story of tragedy after tragedy, cancer, loss of a child... you name it he had it.... and yet still this man remains positive. His simple message is not so simple. I rarely speak so strongly on something like this. But in my opinion if you are not moved by this book, like really moved, you must be either lying or dead...

I highly recommend this book. An endearing and thoroughly beautiful description of one man's life, his strength of purpose, his love, his marvelous humor. The stories in the book, each a special jewel so perfectly drawing a reader into the beautiful experiences of this man's life, the individuals who people his world, and all of this "in real time," in the face of illnesses and suffering and hardship and dying. I cried in parts, and I laughed in other parts (this latter, out loud, while in the Dana Farber infusion waiting room!) .

I was so absorbed in the author's story. It was a wonderful, inspiring read that I could hardly put down.

Best book!
