Eastwood Work Light Foldable Underhood Bracket 2 Halves of Bracket Sliding Module Mount with 2 Thumb Screws

I’ve tried several rechargeable under-hood lights, but none of them were very bright. So I bought the Eastwood bar and added my own 12 volt LED Tractor Lights. Tractor lights provide a wider beam than off-road lights, making them perfect to light up my engine compartment. I first attached a mini-ball tripod head mount with a ¼ x 20 screw to each sliding bracket and then attached the Tractor lights to the ball heads, allowing me to position and pan/swivel the lights in any direction I want.Since these are twelve volt lights, I can power them four ways: with my portable car jump starter shown in the pictures (through its 12 volt output port), the car battery itself, any of my Dewalt 20 Volt batteries (I modified one of my Dewalt chargers to be a 12 V power supply by removing the circuit board inside and replacing it with a cheap step-down buck converter), or from the 12 V output of an old computer power supply I have mounted above my Garage door opener.The only negative to this bar is that your hood must be a minimum of about 48” for the bar to tighten up. The bar won’t tighten to any hood that is narrower and would just slide down. I have one car that fits this scenario, so I made some pads from those EVA foam garage floor tiles (shown in the picture) that slip onto the sides of the narrow hood making it wide enough for the bar.The bar is well made. The brackets slide easily. Add your own lights to get the best use out of it.

I know this light bar is for the eastwood brand light but the bracket construction worked great with the light I already own. A fraction of the cost and all the usability. If you are thinking about trying it, I did and it is a complete success

Had this item for 3 months and out of those 3 months I only use it about 10-15times and it broke, really disappointed on this, very cheap material!!! Not worth buying it, waste of money!

I’ve had this item for six months and it broke. Very poor quality does not appear to hold up at a professional level. Not worth it.
