Performance ToolW30728 8-Inch Lineman's Pliers

How do these work as a standard tool? I have no idea. I use this set almost exclusively to grip and peel off those pain in the posterior "freshness and/or safety seals" on vitamin bottles, food and drink products (like peanut butter jar inner seals), etc., that I can almost never remove by hand.For that, these slender, bent-nosed pliers are excellent and indispensable to me. I recommend them to anyone with grip strength problems, or with anything else that makes those inner product seals, with their invariably too-tiny, too-flimsy, or both, pull-tabs, an infuriating misery to remove.

I was initially drawn to these for two reasons. The first was the photo as I was looking for needle nose pliers that had a thinner body and these did. The second was the price which can be deceiving right? Well it was.They arrived and the same day they departed with a shipping label back to Amazon, These were the worst pair of long nose pliers I have ever used. The problem was easy to see. When I held the pliers closed, there was a gap between the teeth where you could actually slide paper in between only stopping where the top and bottom met about 2" in. Honestly some of the worst workmanship I have ever seen and I hope that perhaps it was an isolated incident and maybe your pair will be better.

I bough this for a specific purpose and it worked for the most part. The item was sturdy, as the feature rating inquires of, as was the comfort level. My only negative view of this item is that it started rusting, requiring periodic clean up, within months. This stinks, because if it does not start holding up I may just chuck it into the trash.

I've noticed they went up in price since I bought. I bought because they were cheaper. They don't have the smaller set of cutouts in the jaws towards the front which is a downside to these but the handles are nice thick plastic making wiping off or cleaning a breeze.

Purchased these to add to my tools for wire wrapping tumbled stones. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is they were not a good fit for my purpose

Depending on your usage these may work for you or not. I needed them to fit inside a timing belt pully (small holes) to tighten the pully. The tips were to big and I had to take a dremel to them to grind them down a bit. After resizing the tips it worked exactly as I wanted it to.

Versatile and a must have for senior citizens' tool box :-). Curved tip is what makes it so useful. A+

Cheap Chinese tool as expected for what I paid for. Don't expect to use it for precision work as the needle tips do not align squarely.

Avoid like the plague. I bought these sidecutters for my father-in-law because they were cheap and looked sturdier than the alternatives at the same price point. I was alarmed when I saw daylight between the closed blades and on closer inspection I saw the blades actually overlap each other rather than meeting head on-see photo.First I tried it out on some thin plastic packaging from a children's toy. Barely made a dent-it just squeezed it a bit. Tried it on some Cat6e cable.and all it did was pinch it without even getting down to the bare wire. Seriously, if you buy these sidecutters with the intention of using them to actually cut something, you'd be better off using a piece of cheese for the job. Maybe a wet fish. These things had one job to do - cutting. Total failure.

Meh, they where stiff, had to grease em, makes them somewhat better. Forgot my pliers when I moved, with covid the stores closed so I could not go and buy some. Had to settle for this cheap stuff. I would not recommend unless you really really really need a pair of pliers all the stores are closed and you don't want to pay much. Or els go to Canadian Tire, pliers often go on sale and you get decent stuff for dirt cheap.

These fit into my hand well. The material appears to be strong and the pliers have done an excellent job so fat. The thick, cushioned handles are great and show no sign of loosening as so many other cushioned handles do. Bent nose pliers are indispensable for me as I use them instead of my fingers for a lot of jobs.

I always read and trust Amazon choices but in this case, these plyers are really for any electrical or any other sort of job, but i am still wondering why was it recommended as a tool for jewellery? It's not that at all.!!

Seems like a good product, time will tell. It arrived in a timely fashion, but we all know that slow deliveries rarely has anything to do with the vendor and everything to do with the carrier.
