It's a standard quartz clock movement, but it comes with a good selection of hands
Replacement quartz clock movements are all pretty much the same. At this price you may get the odd bad one slipping through, but those are easily sorted through Amazon. My purchase worked just fine straight out of the box.The main reason I'm reviewing this one is because it came with a good selection of hands, and can be configured with or without a second hand. It has hands to suit contemporary and traditional style clock faces. It also comes with a selection of spacers. Mine was silent in operation, and as with most silent movements the second hand, if fitted, moves smoothly. If I need to repair another clock I would buy this again.

Perfect!
Saved having to buy a new clock. It was easy to install, but I had to check for instructions elsewhere.

Only worked with no seconds hand. No instructions. Keeps great time, though.
3.5 stars for this. This photo was taken during the 24 hours that the seconds hand worked on this.I’ve had this particular clock for 28 years, it has a very thin cardboard base, so was completely suitable for this mechanism. The instructions on this page are not clear, and the mechanism isn’t supplied with any instructions either. However, if you think about everything intelligently, it’s possible to work it out how to fit it easily. After 24 hours, the clock hands jammed when they were all in a certain position. When I moved the clock to the correct time it restarted, but jammed again when the clock hands were in the same position as before.I’ve had this problem with quite a few quartz clocks over the years. If you can remove the seconds hand, all is well,Anyway, all is well. The clock has been minus a seconds hand for well over a week, and has kept perfect time. This would be better with some clear instructions. You have to place the metal hanger in place over the plastic mechanism “box”, then stick the double sided circular sticky pad over it, to affix it to the back of the clock. The stem of the mechanism isn’t very long, so it is only suitable for thin faces of light metal or cardboard.Having had this clock for a very long time, I’m quite attached to it, so I was really pleased to get it going again.I’ve kept the spare hands, and will see if I can source some basic mechanisms without hands to make a clock, now that I have the know-how.I ended up using my original hands, but it’s nice that there is a different variety of styles supplied.

Easy to fit and a good timekeeper.
We had an electronic kitchen clock that stopped working. As the clock face was quite amusing and relevant to a kitchen (a tea-pot) I wanted to get it working again. It came with a choice of hands, to match the clockface and was very easy to fit; I didn't even have to adjust the hole in the clock face. It keeps good time and, as added bonuses, it has a second hand and is almost silent (much quieter than the original mechanism).

misleading - now edited
No matter how hard I tried the hands only went on one way, which means I couldn't use the black (which I wanted) but have had to use the silver....apart from the second hand which can only be used with the black facing - looks most odd so I haven't used it. The instructions say not to press too hard when fitting the hands, well no matter how hard I pressed I couldn't force them on, they only seemed to go on one way, that's because the hole in the hands aren't flat, they seemed to be shaped to fit on the appropriate shaft. All fitted now, so cant return so disappointed.Sorry, my bad….I have now managed to fit the hands the right way around, I needed to press harder than I thought so all is good.

Great
Easy to fit, works well

Does not work
My clock is the correct size and thickness. Despite trying various combinations of spacers, nuts and washers the hour hand was slack and didn't work. The instructions on here are useless and almost illegible even with expansion. I wish this was made in Britain.
