My Best Buys Ever on Amazon
I bought a 12" x 18" board 2 weeks ago and last week another board, this one 15" x 20". I have treated the smaller board 9 straight days with organic coconut oil. I just got the big board and will treat it with a beeswax, etc. conditioner for a couple of weeks and then compare the two. I want to get my wife to take pictures of the 2 conditioned boards like the pictures already posted of conditioned boards when I'm done. Two things I've got to say LOUD and CLEAR, so listen up, LOL. One: these 2 boards are the finest quality items I've ever purchased on Amazon. They are magnificent and a near miraculous price ($52 for a 15 x 20 board with FREE shipping). The 12 x 18 board is less than 40 bucks with FREE Shipping. I am just astounded at the beauty of the board I've been working the coconut oil into every day (wipe on wipe off). Then last night I received the 15 x 20 board and it is so beautiful it just took my breath away. I'm not kidding. Now, if I can just keep from dropping this beauty on my toes! Just kidding, but both boards are heavy, about 9 and 13 pounds so muscle up mates. I am determined to post a follow up review on this in a couple of weeks after conditioning the big board.Second thing I want to say: Dawn Shannon at Dawn's Depot is incredible. She packages these wonderful cutting boards in 1/4" thick card board boxes custom fit to the Boards. So they both arrived in perfect condition, both 2 days before the earliest possible posted receival date. And both shipped free. This woman is the BEST. Do not order one of these boards from any other vendor than Dawn. She deserves flowers and chocolates and first class accolades. These boards will give me hours of pleasure, both conditioning them and using them to ensure good food safety. Thanks once again, Dawn, and thanks to the company who makes these beauties so perfectly they're like works of art..

It's a steal!
I needed a new cutting board because my old bamboo one was too thin and is about to split in half. So, i went in search of a thicker board and after looking at several boards that were $100 or more, i saw this one. It is just as beautiful and solid wood like all the other expensive "brand name" ones but at a cost that is definitely easier on my wallet. I put 2 of these on my wish list because i couldn't decide what size to get. I didn't get one for christmas, but i got a giftcard so I decided to purchase the smaller one (18x12). It arrived from the seller very quickly, wrapped in a box that fit it like a glove. Pulled it out of the box and here is this gorgeous wooden cutting board. I've used it many times so far and I love it! It's the perfect thickness that it doesn't move around on my granite counter top when i'm using it and is a good size for cutting bread, veggies, etc. It does require some care to keep it looking great, but the care is really easy and takes very little of your time. Oil it with food grade mineral oil every night for a week, once a week for a month and once a month then after. Doing this will help it last for years, AND....if you get a stain on it that won't come out all you have to do is sand it down and repeat the oiling process as if it were a new board. I love it so much that when i saw the bigger board from my wish list go down in price by almost 50% i had to pick up that one too. The board is gorgeous enough to just leave out on my counter all the time. I don't know why anyone would waste their money on those expensive boards when this one is fantastic!

Great cutting board! Dawn's Distinction ROCKS!
I wanted to post a review of the authentic Michigan Maple Block cutting board (Made in the USA) as opposed to the Thailand knock off. I will post some pictures of the two boards side by side so everyone can see the differences between the two.The actual MMP board looks exactly like the picture on the listing. It is glued so that the edge grain faces up as it should be. The Thailand knock off is glued so that the face grain faces up....thus using fewer pieces of wood the achieve the same overall width. This is not acceptable for a cutting surface in my opinion. Either edge grain or end grain is what to look for in a good cutting board. The MMP board came unfinished (it did have a thin layer of mineral oil applied before shipping) for the most part and I was able to add a good coating of mineral oil right out of the box. In the pictures you can see the darkness of the wood due to the oil. The Thailand knock off is much lighter in color and came with a 'lacquered' finish. Again...not something you want for a cutting board.I did decide to keep the Thailand board instead of shipping it back because it makes a good working surface for me on my table and counters, but I will not cut on it. I still wanted the cutting board I thought I'd ordered the first time, so rather than take any chances I contacted Dawn's Distinction directly in order to make sure I received the authentic MMP board the second time around. Dawn was extremely helpful and went out of her way to make my shopping experience the best I've ever had on Amazon. If only all Amazon vendors were as helpful as Dawn was. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I'm a very happy customer now.
