Gotta get the good stuff!
I tried a cheaper no-name chain, not to save a few bucks but I liked its black and silver looks. This is on a new all Dura Ace bike with new cluster, chain rings, and derailleur pulleys, so it should have worked fine but it kept mis-shifting just slightly.Just installed this new Shimano HG93 and it works perfectly, just as all Shimano stuff does.Form follows function; don’t waste your time with the cheap stuff, even if it looks good.

Love this chain
Works very well with my Shimano cassette. Tried a KMC and it was not as smooth as this chain. Shimano cassette? Look no further.

I don't like the pin system shimano uses to connect the chain ...
bought it to go with my ultegra drivetrain. I don't like the pin system shimano uses to connect the chain together, get the kmc missing links to go with this chain.

Great Chain
I really like HG-93 chains for my 9-speed mountain bike, which gets heavy use.The shifting is smoother than the lower-end chains. The only reason I'm replacing the chain is that the cassette and middle chainring are worn out and being replaced. My experience in the past is do not try to re-use a chain when replacing drivetrain components. It's like the chain wears to the cogs and chainrings and will not work with new ones, even if the chain appears to be in good shape still.

Shimano's pin pased system is a pain
The chain is perfectly fine but the pin-based system is a huge pain. I ended up breaking the pin and was only able to use the chain thanks to a spare master link from a SRAM chain.
