Very good quality whetstone. Pleased my grandson - exactly what he wanted!!

First time sharpening my own knives and this made it very easy. The piece that connects to the knife is good to give you an idea of the angle but on long knives I don’t find as useful. This stone worked very well and is a great value.

The product includes a sharpening guide which will be useful for a beginner like me. The package did not include instructions.

I spent a lot of money and time trying other methods of sharpening but always came back to the manual method. I had a good double-sided stone but it was more for sharpening chisels and although it worked I decided to purchase this because it was wider. My other one is Arkansas which is more of an oil stone but I used it with water. The major difference with this is that it's very porous so I have to soak it for a few hours before using it.My first attempt resulted in almost-very-sharp knives so as I get used to it I'm sure it will do the job. I guess my concern is that since it's so soft that keeping it flat may be an issue but there's included a block that is supposed to level the surface. I can always go back to a larger Arkansas setup. Probably won't use the little "degree" device since those things only seem to work with one blade size.

Bought it to try out for our knife sets. Read lots of reviews and went ahead and bought it. So far it does great. Sharpened my knives right up using the #6000. Stone fit inside block and rubber just fine. Like the guide as well. Definitely easy for beginners, but would have been nice to have directions or any extra help. I watched videos before using mine. All in all easy to use and would recommend for anyone to buy!

Let me start with saying the instructions was so timy it was unreadable. But I watched about 3 Youtube videos and got everything I needed to start. The wooden holder seems well made and the stone seems solid.I soaked mine in water for about 30 minutes while I watch my videos. You must have patience. This is not an instant sharpener espeically if your knives have not been sharpened in a long time. I probally put about 15 to 20 minutes into each knife and by the time I got to my third I really got the hang of it. Its a very nice stone for the price.

I'm not rating this yet. Includes a card indicating the importatnce of sharpening knives, but not for how to sharpen knives nor what all the included accessories are for. Still experimenting with it, and referring to multiple YouTube videos to figure it out.

I use a variety of sizes and shapes of box cutters and Xacto knives to cut EVA foam for costume fabrication. Rather than breaking off the end blades on my box cutters and throwing them away because they're slightly dulled, I thought there had to be a better way. Yep, a whetstone was the answer, and my blades are now always razor-sharp or better. They cut through EVA foam (even 10mm thick foam) like soft butter. So impressed what a couple of strokes on the whetstone does to a blade. I picked this bundle because it came with a nice bamboo holder that has a rubberized (non-skid) bottom, a small whetstone of coarser grit, and a knife angle guide/holder. I bought this primarily to sharpen my costume fabricating knives, but it works so well, I'll probably sharpen all my kitchen knives with it as well. The product was packaged well (no holes or rips in the boxes) and it was delivered faster than I thought it would be. Very happy with my purchase.
