Poor construction
Bought this lamp to use while working and it has broke at one of the joints, It will no longer holds at any position. Poor plastic construction. Not worth the money.

Very nice office lamp
Not only does it have style, but having so much control over the amount of light it puts out, and the type of light is great. If the blue light spectrum bothers your eyes, you can switch to one of the other spectrums and this is a great selling point for this lamp.I use it below my eye level so that the light is only shinning on my work, and not into my face. It also never gets very warm to the touch. It can be on for many hours and still not be much more than ambient temperature.

Buzzing noise
I like the overall look and idea of this lamp, however, when I change the brightness settings to anything dimmer than the brightest setting, the lamp emits a fairly loud high pitched buzzing noise. I don't really know how to describe it, but I've heard it in other electronics if I get my ear really close to them (like third party chargers while they are charging something) , except with this lamp I'm 3ft away and I can hear it while I read. Unfortunately its fairly distracting.

Looks great, but poorly constructed and disappointing product support
This product looks great and was a perfect light source for my new home office setup. Unfortunately, after only 7 months of very light use, a crack developed in the hinge at the base and the lamp will no longer stand upright. Only minor adjustments were ever made, so this seemed like a product defect that would be covered under the manufacturer's 24 month product warranty. (In fact, another customer noted the same product issue.) Unfortunately, Consciot customer support refuses to honor their warranty, because "the hinge of the lamp is not easy to break without external force as it is made of high-quality ABS material". Later emails seem to acknowledge the possibility of a defect, while still refusing to replace or refund the item. Their response makes one wonder what the warranty actually does cover.I am pleased to say that Amazon was willing to accept a return of the item even though the return window had closed. Though they only issued a partial refund, it is better than what the manufacturer offered, which was nothing. Needless to say, I will avoid Consciot items from now on.

Multi-setting desktop or bedside lamp. Bad control panel.
Wow, this light has a huge number of variables so you can set the color and brightness to your exact tastes, which is excellent. The control interface, however, is not. There is a 5-button control panel at the base of the light that allows you to turn the light on and off, adjust the color temperature of the light, set the brightness, set a 30-minute or 60-minute timer or turn on and adjust the tiny night light. It offers lots of control, but the problem is, there is no indicator for any button to tell you what setting you're currently at. For example, once you've turned the light on you have to press the "sun" button to adjust the brightness, but you have to repeatedly press the button to find the level you want. Each press makes the light a bit brighter until it reaches full brightness, but then the next presses makes the light dimmer and dimmer. This means you may have to cycle several times through the brightening/dimming procedure until you find the level you want. If you bypass the brightness you want, you have to continually keep pressing the button until you get to max brightness before you can start dimming the light. I find this very inconvenient and irritating. The same is true for the light color setting. There is nothing on the control panel to tell you what your brightness or color setting is, so each time you use it, you have to experiment by cycling through brightness and color until you get what you want. It's not the end of the world, but it's aggravating and not fun. I have a different similar lamp that is MUCH easier to control, and I was expecting this lamp to be a similar pleasant experience—but it's more irritating than anything. It spoils the overall experience of using the lamp. The vertical and horizontal arms are both hinged, meaning it is easy to bend the light in whatever position feels right to you. The base is heavy glass, so the lamp will not easily tip over, even in the maximum forward position. This is excellently designed in this regard. It will be an excellent lamp to use on finely detailed work (jewelry making, modeling, hobbies, electrical, etc.) to get the light as close as possible to your work on your desk.Taping the "moon" button turns on the night light in its brightest setting. Tapping it again lowers the brightness a bit, then again and a final tap turns the night light off. Again, unfortunately, there is no way to tell what you've set the night light to. You have to experiment with multiple button pushes each time to adjust the light. I really wanted to love this light, but I found very quickly that the continual tap-tap-tap-tap to get to what I wanted was really a drawback. This is just bad engineering, as you should never force a user into a protracted series of actions just to use the device. I unfortunately do not recommend this lamp.

Didn't hold up well
We used this on a desk and for art projects. It has great light options and projects it well over the area. Unfortunately the hinge that hold the light horizontal to the table gave way after a few months. not we have duck tape on it and adjust it with that. It only holds for a month or so and then has to be replaced. The weight of the light just makes it hard to hold up.Overall it's a great lamp with many useful modes. I found that depending on what I was working on I could change the light to get the best results - for example if we were drawing the light needed to be brighter but not harsh or we'd lose the details in the reflection, then if I was using ink it could be a warmer tone. My daughter used it for painting and it was amazing to see how the light affected the colors so dramatically. If that hinge was stronger this would be a perfect desk lamp.
