So I would give these 10 stars if I could. This is the best and most thoughtfully designed screwdriver set I've ever encountered. I have a general commitment to US made tools (goods in general. But not always so easy). This is more an objection to low cost outsourcing than it is a statement of patriotic values but the thoughtfulness and manufacturing quality here remind why I consider this important. Anyway. These drivers exceeded my expectations in a lot of ways some big and some little but all meaningful.1) Case. The case is not the typical 1 piece blow molded garbage. It is blow molded but it is of much heavier grade plastic and wait for it... has an actual hinge. Yup manufactured of 2 actual pieces and actually assembled... needless to say it feels better is more durable and just nicer than the usual fair.2) Bit shape. These are hollow ground. I now they aren't the only hollow ground bits out there, they aren't even the only hollow ground bits I own. But they are well machined and importantly come with a data card indicating the maximum intended working torque for each bit. These torques are calibrated to the intended working torque of fastener that correspond to the bits. Useful information particularly if you are a machinist or gunsmith and actual screw torque matters.3) versatility. The set comes with like 8 different ways that you can use was bit depending again on how much room you have and how much torque you need to bring to bear. The lowest is using the actual machined knurling on the back of every bits (great for toys and certain finishing screws) and you work up from there to the fingertip holder all the way out to the 3" bit ratchet. Again thoughtful giving the user 1) the ability to get into tight spaces and 2) the ability to use the bits in a way that won't strip the head or tear out the substrait or otherwise get to a counter productive place.If you're are debating. I hope this helps. They are a great value and a great set of tools.

I bought this to work on my vintage sewing machines which have specialty screws that are virtually irreplaceable. This particular set has many many, sizes of straight screwdriver bits which are the most frequently used with vintage sewing machines. The instructions are very clear. They talk about torque and when the bit starts to bend so that you know when to stop. There is also a small which it to use for tiny spaces, plus the additional ratchet. The beds pop in and out of the handles extremely easily but are well seated so that they do not fall out. This is different from my previous set that had a small magnet holding them in, but then the magnet broken fell out. Although these are more expensive, I am very impressed with the quality, and the craftsmanship, and having the additional slots in the box should I wish to purchase additional bits individually. There is a place to store them. Overall a most excellent product!

Absolutely top quality screw driver kit...saved me a ton of headache and expense when dealing with those dumb Magpul Grip Screws!!! Every screwdriver I tried kept mangling my Magpul flathead grip screw that I was trying to take out of my AR15 because I wanted to change grips...I was about to just take it to a gunsmith when I happened upon this kit on Amazon. Thank goodness I did! The largest flathead it comes with fit perfectly and the included stubby wrench had just the right amount of torque to loosen the screws loctited death grip on my receiver! This whole kit oozes quality and the built in the USA craftsmanship is well worth the premium! I will definitely be purchasing any other similar tools from Chapman in the future!

Was searching high-and-low for a decent bit set to disassemble my Henry Big Boy 357. Pretty much everything I tried was wrong, looked as though I was either going to chew up a slot screw, or mar the brass receiver.I called Henry RA, although they said they could not recommend any brand, the smith did state hollow ground bits, and make sure it was American made.Ran across this set, everything was well made and thought though. Had no trouble with dissasembly, nor reassembly of the rifle. Bits are very well made-perfect for my uses, and it fits in a range bag.Highly recommended

Love my set and have wanted them so some time. They were suggested for antique and vintage sewing machine repair. So far they have not failed me in the fact that they fit perfectly in the screw slots and allow me to get the torque I need to break a screw that has literally been set for 100 years free without stripping it. Great for tight places like around the needle bar etc on the machine. Will add more bits as I can afford them.

For changing out sewing attachment feet on CONSEW industrial sewing machine. Needs lots of leverage on a wide screw head with a narrow slot. One would think screw manufacturers would match the screw heads to screw drivers. Nope. A wide screw driver head is too fat to fit in the narrow slot of the screw; a thin blade on the screw driver has a narrow shaft that distorts and bends in the wide screw head.To compensate this screw driver set is made of harder or hardened steel and doesn't twist in the screw slot. The sharpest blade still could be wider. The short shaft really help in tight awkward places to avoid bruising knuckles on sharp edges. I tossed out a dozen cheap screw drivers before my husband found this set.

I got this kit for working on Vintage sewing machines. Hollow ground tips are far superior than flat blade, and this kit delivers. I've used every one, though there are a few duplicates, and am very pleased. You can use the tips in the handle alone, add the extension, or use the extension without the handle to quickly loosen or tighten the screw. And my favorite piece is the ratchet - definitely a life saver for me! Made of hardened steel, no mars or nicks on the tip when trying to remove a stubborn screw.Highly recommend this kit for its quality and durability.
