The portable Tecsun X3 FM Radio is built with a solid aluminum frame to give it that "Sharp Looker" curb appeal.The QAM Storytelling device needed a replacement.Features I like about this radio:* Speaker audio is amazing, tons of mid to low end.* Aluminum frame.* Metal speaker grill.* FM reception is decent.* MP3 playback sounds good.* Rechargeable battery.* Headphone audio is decent.* FM Stereo, and Stereo MP3 playback.Features that could be added or improved on:* Display, more MP3 information would be ideal.* Larger capacity battery like an 18650 or even a BL-5C.* Add Bluetooth functionality.* Support for larger micro SD cards. 8GB is a bit on the small side.Overall its a buy for the Tecsun collector, and a person who loves the look and build quality of their devices. The sound quality is it's biggest selling point next to its aluminum frame. You can buy a radio with more features like the Tecsun Q3 but will have to sacrifice a bit on the low end punch this unit produces. There are a ton of competing devices out there, but the simplicity of this device is what I was looking for.

Arrived very fast, so that was a plus. I was expecting a cheaper quality material but it seems like it will hold up. It gets reception to one of my favorite stations that my car radio can't seem to. It gets very loud, nice bass. Stone Age MP3 player though, no track names, NO SHUFFLE!?!? Note: The battery only lasts about 4 hours in MP3 mode so you'll probably want to buy an extra... Not bad for the money I guess.

The item is well constructed, and the sound is very solid. Unless you turn it up to the highest volume(which is pretty loud), there is no distortion whatsoever.The only thing that I don't like is when you hold it, the corners of the little ditch(for the lack of a better term) where the antenna sits isn't rounded out. As a result, when you are holding it, it feels sharp to the touch.

Another well engineered product from Tecsun. This radio looks great, sounds great, and works great! ETM makes the radio easy to set up and tune to all available stations and as you move to different areas it is so easy to set up you can quickly reset it. Sound quality is awesome, size is perfect, and battery life is good. If you want to just use it without a battery you can, unlike some of the units with a built in battery that die very quickly and never seem to have enough juice. Since the battery is a typical cell phone battery you can borrow this battery back and forth with your if you need to. Great price but I don't understand why the colored radios cost 15$ more??? If your looking for a great radio for a great price, here it is, no fancy features just useful ones and good quality.

Great sound out of this little radio. Pulls in even weak stations. Well constructed with a heavy aluminum bezel around the radio. This is a great radio for the money. I have purchased about 6 other Tecsun radios and there isn't a dud in the bunch.

I was very impressed with the room filling audio from this small radio. The bass is quite good, although the headphone audio doesn't measure up with the speaker audio. It's well constructed, and a lot of top notch engineering went into the design. Overall it's an absolute winner!

I don't like it any better than the D3

Really like the size and sound quality of this device. I use it to run an MP3 for fireplace sounds on continuous loop in my faux fireplace. It is great.
