i like the fact that it detects a good distance away the only thing i do not like about it is the beep is not very loud and can only be heard when you are within 5 feet. i wish i could make it louder so i can hear it better. as far as visual you can see this from all angles from a good 20 to 30 feet away due to the LEDs being very bright and having the clear top. other than the low level of the beep you can hardly hear this should be on every boat and any time you are out in nature.

We live in central Florida and this is a must as we have lots of storms and the sound travels far, this way we have a better way of knowing how far and how fast we need to get off the water, out of the pool, or back to the car. This is a great product

Please, for the love of god, make the area around the battery door screws a diameter less than the length of the screw itself. They can get jammed in sideways incredibly easily and it's absolutely unnecessary. Make it a circle. Anything.

I saw the product on our local FL TV station and it is everything I've been looking for in this type of device. We used it the week we received it as Hurricane Ian approached Tampa Bay. I would highly recommend this quality and easy to use product.

I was skeptical that this product would really work but it is actually very sensitive. In Florida where we have almost daily afternoon thunderstorms, the warnings start well in advance of the storm. Sometimes the sky is clear and I don't believe the alarm but after checking the weather radar there is always a storm nearby. I have noted that a passing helicopter can trigger a false alarm even if it is a mile away; probably due to electrical inference.

Purchased to use at a swimming beach to have a more concrete tool to identify lightning in the area. I was very disappointed because it never registered anything. Had the device as they suggested, located away from the building, and didn't register a single strike in the middle of a thunderstorm. I had more false readings cause from electrical interferences during setup then the duration of my use. I ended up returning it since it failed.

The media could not be loaded.  This unit is very Sensitive and will pick up lightning strikes to 60 miles in the green led flash Indicator and 50 mile average in the blue led indicator. I’m located on the Texas coast 20’ on stilts over the water. I’m figuring that being over water makes a superior ground plane for the unit and is amplifying the incoming signal generously. I’m sure if this unit was more inland that it would act more less sensitive compared to being over water and elevated. This unit matched my Lightning Pro app to the T👍 It is definitely worth the money and the unit is built like a tank!!!

Simple and straight forward device, mounts just about anywhere and does what it says it can do. Compared lightning distance with weather map app on an iPhone, very accurate. I like it.Update August, 2022:This unit has outperformed my expectations. Never leave the dock without it aboard the boat. We are located southeast of Dallas, TX and have frequent thunderstorm activity.
