Durability and functionality
Have owned two of these devices for 3+ years and they still function well. Writing this review because I thought the battery went out on one of them and figured I got my money's worth after looking up my purchase records. Plugged in the non functional racquet to the other ones charger and it still worked. Thought it might be the charger itself but both worked. That's when I discovered the multiple use outlet I was using had been pulled out of the receptacle and that's why the racquet didn't work. Recharged it and all is good and didn't need to order another one. I leave them on all night with the LED on during the rainy season and helps immensely with the mosquitos and small gnats. Hopefully they are still manufactured with the same components currently as a few years ago.

During summer, you can't be without one!
I was extremely pleased with this bug zapper since day one. It wasn't until yesterday that it truly proved both it's worth & it's unmatched expertise is dispatching unwanted pests.Because of the heat & humidity from storm Debbie's rains, our main hallway had attracted quite a few large flies. They found an opportunity to enter my apartment when I brought in my groceries. Before I knew it, I had more than 6 flies now trapped inside my place. From starting the clock immediately after I turned this unit on, a sole bug zapper drew in & dispatched 4 flies in under 2 minutes. After 10 minutes elapsed, no more large flies remained.I fully credit the UV feature that surrounds the inner lower portion of this bug zapper, as the UV light seems irresistible to any flying creature. The light draws them in quickly. As this was set up in a central location in my apartment. Without this zapper, I would have been frustrated for days on end with so many flying pests. My only negative comment is the extremely short 3 foot USB cable provided that powers & recharges the unit. You can utilize the zapper on battery or leave it seated in it's base while charging. While on battery at first, it's zapping spree quickly drained the battery, most likely because the flies were so large that they continued to be zapped multiple times, until I emptied the carcass from the zapper. After purchasing, I decided to order longer cords with 1 standard USB-A on one end & a micro USB on the opposite end. These zappers are comparable to a tennis racket in size & are extremely effective. I hope this review helps anyone who is considering purchasing one of these & what you'll need to buy if you're looking for a longer length power cable.

OMG I’m so happy
First thing you have to know is the little six-legged vampires love my blood. I get completely swarmed every time I go camping or even near water in the summer. So having a way to reduce their impact is critical for me to enjoy myself.I just went camping and toon one of these with us (me and my dog). The first evening started late and the mosquitoes were out in legions. They chomped down on any exposed skin while I was setting up camp and there was a small contingent of blood suckers inside the tent once I got it up and closed.Out came this little thing. I set it up near my equipment while I finished setting up camp and immediately saw a reduction in insects. The sound was loud as little firecrackers popped and snapped away (bugs getting fried by this thing). Right before bedtime, I took it into the tent and slowly waved it around … cleared out the malaria-givers in just a few seconds, all with the very satisfying pops and crack of their deaths! So easy to use, either set it up in the weighted base to draw bugs to it (worked surprisingly well) or wave it around and dance your big worries away! The unit lasted the whole time out without needing to recharge and still had some power left at the end of the trip! Just don’t leave it on 24/7. Use it at dusk around camp and in your tent right before bed.Works amazingly! Great value when you buy more that one at a time. Hopefully they last a while! Time will tell

Loud but Effective
Excellent against flies and mosquitos in both swatter and illuminated "zapper" mode. There is a fairly loud "crack" when an insect hits the powered grid. Some smaller insects, such as gnats or fruit flies, may evade the swatter.
