Great but...Beware of the sticker!
I really love this book and think it is a great tool. I was an athlete in my younger days- a swimmer, but I'm relatively new to running. I can see how this works for beginners all the way up to higher level athletes. Especially if you're one who likes to see your week all out in front of you to get a better sense of your accomplishments. Having authors with such success in running makes the advice throughout the book more valuable. One word of advice from me, though... There is a sticker on the back cover over the textured surface, even though the book came wrapped in plastic from the printer. Choose to take the sticker off the back on a rest day. Peeling it off is a workout all by itself.

a training journal that looks at more than just mileage & numbers
i love this journal. i'm on my second one. It has great quotes, advice, examples. I like that each week there is a spot for the weekly focus/goal, and at the end of the week the "rundown". In addition, each week has a question or something to write like "when you achieve your goal, you feel....." The little things in this journal make you think about your running and training as a whole - what you feel, what you think before/during/after, etc....not just the mileage. Gives you the opportunity to really reflect on your training and who you are.

Great for detail oriented people
I guess I should have read about it a little more. This is primarily for running so i have to kind of squeeze my weight lifting programming in there. I didn't really care for all the extra pages of their stuff in there, for example the sample journal pages, or the author bios, but the quotes every week are nice. The cover is sturdy and it goes with me to my gyms every day and shows minimal wear. It's cheesy but i do like it a lot.

What's up with the sticker damaging the book?!?!
I would have given this 5 stars, but there was a huge sticker on the back of the book that is damn near impossible to remove. I STILL haven't gotten all of it off. The cover is a beautiful, soft "leather" with the words embossed on it. So, it's very easy to scrape the surface while trying to remove the sticker. If the sticker is so necessary to have why don't they apply it to the plastic covering that the book was wrapped in instead of on the book itself?!?!The journal itself is very nice. Days are blank so you can start/stop it for whatever goal you are working on which makes it more flexible.

Good motivational journal not just for runners.
This is so good if you are trying to exercise every day and can't find the time. You almost "want" to write something in there every day, so you go out and walk or exercise so you don't leave any blank spots. Also, there are some very inspirational quotes and stories.

Useful training journal
Love the inspirational quotes, the examples on how to use the different sections, and the journal in general. It helps me focus on what I want to do presently and for the future. I just wish there was a little more room to record my workouts, but I can also just write smaller.

Great for this beginning runner!
I've been running for six weeks and bought this journal three weeks ago. Using this journal has helped me become more methodical and deliberate with my workouts. I fill it out in the morning when I eat breakfast and take it to the gym with me. Very helpful tool, I'm glad I got it!

I love this training journal
I love this training journal. I bought it to help me record my running progress in 2016. There is a week by week calendar inside which I am making good use of but there is also so much more packed into this little book. It's an absolute gem. There are inspirational quotes, training workout suggestions, tips about nutrition and strength training, plus so much more. I would recommend this lovely book to any runners, new and old.
