Made a great gift for 5 year old who loves nature.
It is made of real wood but is still light weight. I purchased an extra 2 suction cups (1 to hook lanyard on & 2nd to go under the birdhouse) to make sure the birdhouse will not fall. Granddaughter is 5 & wants to watch the birds & their babies in the nest.

Lightweight wood birdhouse - decorate it and make it your own
It's definitely wood and not plastic as some other reviews mention. The wood is thin, probably a bit thicker than 1/4 inch. It is designed to be light so the suction cups hold it. I painted it with acrylic and gave it a couple of coats of gloss sealer for weather protection. It is a gift so I don't know yet how it will hold up or if the birds will use it, but will update the review after a while outside. So far, I'm pleased.

Nice...not in time!
Very nice. Took too long to receive though....this time of year DAYS MATTER so the bluebirds had started/completed nests by the time I got this....maybe next year....

Spinning birds
Cute concept, but this doesn’t work if you have it hanging from a string. All it does is spin with a little bit of wind. I should have thought about that before I bought. Maybe I can attach it to a tree, but that defeats the purpose of being able to see through it. I’m also not sure the suction cup is sturdy enough to attach to a window. I would feel bad if it dropped with a nest in it like others are saying has happened to them.

Do not recommend
It is a cute idea but it lasted 2 weeks outside. The glued structure fell apart before birds could move in.I guess they knew it was weak as it had a short return window.Do not recommend.

Bluebird haven
Perfect! We ordered this pre-built birdhouse after we noticed a bluebird flying near the house. The house came quickly, we put it in a tree and we now have a bluebird couple on their 2nd nesting!

Great Blue Bird house
I have purchased 8 of these houses at different times. They are my favorite when I purchase bird houses. Great house and a breeze to clean. When on sale they are cheaper than for me to build - which I do. By the way, if using for Blue Birds keep them far apart (at least 50+ yards) or else only one will be used.
