Bom Dia! Level 2 - Portuguese Language Textbook (Portuguese Edition)

Meets my home study needs!
I just received my copy of Bom Dia! Level 2 and I am thrilled with what it contains, as a follow-up to Bom Dia! These appealing books provide an excellent cultural overview of Portugal (in Bom Dia! Level 1) and the Lusophone countries around the world (in this book, Level 2). My own interest in learning Portuguese has been fueled by reading Nobel Laureate novelist Jose Saramago (in translation) and listening to the Cabo-Verdiana singer Cesaria Evora. Level 2 is especially distinguished by its numerous short biographies of notable people from Portuguese-speaking countries, which are treated in separate chapters. The grammar and vocabulary lessons are beautifully integrated into this meaningful cultural presentation, which is highly motivating for self-study. These wonderful books combine the clarity, organization, and graded learning of a textbook with beautiful photography and text that make it an inviting travel book one wants to read, not merely study. I appreciate that it got me reading and using Portuguese from the moment I opened the first book, and now into the second. Bom Dia! E um prazer!

Best portuguese book out there
Materials in Portuguese can be hard to find, especially the good ones. This book was the best purchase I have ever made. Most language books go on and on about grammar and confuse us with terms we don't understand, or have hard-to-memorize sentences that we could only use in a hotel. This book actually teaches conversational Portuguese in a way where it is easy and understandable. Within 6 months of receiving both Bom Dia 1 and 2, I have learned about 2 years of what would be learned in a normal class. Only problem that doesn't really matter: Brazilian slang isn't introduced until the second book and there is a greater focus on European words.

Bom dia 2 Portuguese coursebook
Excellent coursebook with useful general info in English. I have found nothing as appropriate to my needs even though I trawled through many websites. Unfortunately the book is not available in Europe and has to be sent from the USA, making it very expensive (49 dollars).
