Works quickly...
The media could not be loaded. We have well water, which means when we have a power outage, not only do we not have electricity, but we do not have water either. So I purchased this battery operated transfer pump to use for transferring water from larger containers (5 gallon jugs, etc.) to smaller containers.I was looking for a pump option that is BATTERY POWERED because I need something when I have no power. I needed something LIGHTWEIGHT & EASY to use; easy enough for my KIDS to use it.After scrolling through Amazon & reading reviews, I decided to buy this one. I am HAPPY with this pump.It meets ALL of our needs for water transfer during power outages... BATTERY operated, EASY to use (push the switch for EASY on/off), & LIGHTWEIGHT.With the detachable hose, it is also EASY to clean. I simply run some soapy water through the pump, then some plain water, detach the hose, & let it all air dry. VOILA! Ready for the next time we need it.We don't have an aquarium, but this would have been SO handy when we had one years ago. I hated having to stick my hands in the funky water to clean it out every month, but I did it because it was part of having fish. My kids keep asking for fish, & I keep saying no. IF I end up getting an aquarium down the line, I will want to purchase another of these pumps to use for tank cleaning & draining. This pump meets our needs & has been an asset to have. Just this AM we had an unexplained power outage (perfect weather, no storm), & I was happy to have this pump handy to save my back from having to pour water out of a 5 gallon jug, without a cooler dispenser. Super easy to place the pump in the water container & pump the water into another one.The photo shows how much water was pumped by this pump from my water source into a 1 gallon jug. The jug is about 1/3 full in about 15-20 seconds. That is nice & QUICK.The pump came with zero directions & I was having a hard time connecting the tubing to the pump body until I realized I needed to use the silicone ring & clamp. First put the silicone ring around the tubing opening, loosen the screw clamp & put it over the silicone ring, slide the pump hose with the silicone ring on it, over the pump spout, screw the clamp tight, & no leaks! Don't over tighten the clamp, but make sure it's tight enough. The pump takes 2 D batteries and it works very well with my rechargeable batteries, which is a bonus.I WOULD purchase this pump again.

Boo!!!
Easy to set up and worked OK for a few days. About a gallon every 2-3 minutes. Then it started to leak out of the plastic housing, so I taped it up and it found more plastic to leak out of. It fell on the floor once from less than 1 foot and the power switch broke, keeping it on unless I unscrew the battery cap. The performance really dropped after that. Typically 1 gallon every 5+ minutes. Not worth it. Get the turbo pump instead.

Great for transferring liquids
I bought this to use when I am making wine and need to transfer the wine from a bucket to a glass carboy. This is great for transferring liquids. The only thing that did surprise me a bit was the batteries used. For some reason, I thought I already had the batteries needed but I did not. This pump uses D-size batteries which are the biggest batteries that were used in old flashlights. Besides that, it is easy to use, you submerge the pump in the liquid and flip the switch to turn on. It does not pressurize the output liquid and I would compare the flow/pressure of the liquid to having a hose on a bucket.

Awesome!
I wish I had known about these things years ago. I was so tired of half killing myself trying to fill my riding lawn mower. This little gadget works like a charm. My grandson mentioned that these exist. I went straight to Amazon. Sure enough...... The price was right and I love it! Great for the weak .....like me!

Junk
Suction was pretty good but it leaked from every section that was assembled. Tightened the expandable oring and that worked but it leaked from the vent holes and the sections where it was assembled. Tried sealing these section with a sealant and it leaked somewhere else. Returned the product immediately via Amazon returns (awesome return process), received my refund instantly from Amazon but the manufacturer didn't want it back (because it's junk) so I kept it and tried sealing other holes. Still doesn't work. Save your money and time. NOTE: very cheap plastic quality.
