I purchased 2 of these because a product I purchased only came with a four foot plug in cord but by purchasing this product I was able to mount my plugin unit nowhere near an outlet and these wires gave me the amount of wiring I needed to run the wiring through a closet and down through the basement, and attach it to the original 4 foot plug and plug it into my Basement outlet. This is a great solution for extending any short supplied plug in cord and increase the length so you can plug in the unit wherever you want without having to be forced to keep it near an outlet. Great product and did the job! It turned my original 4 foot cord into a 100 foot cord which in return let me run the wires wherever I needed to any Outlet I desired without limitation.. just simply cut and splice the wiring on both ends and attach them together.. just make sure that you purchase the correct wiring gauge for the unit in which you plan to extend the wiring. In my case I needed the 24 AWG and this is exactly what it is supplied for me. Just read the small numbers on your cord in which you would like to expand and it will tell you the proper gauge wiring. For example it will say 24 AWG right on the wiring, or might saw 18 AWG. And just purchase the same amount of AWG that is written in small letters on the cord supplied in which you would like to increase in length so you are not limited to where you want to plug any unit into your desired outlet location without limitation.

I use this mostly for repairing electronics, since they use quite low voltage and amperage and have runs of less than six inches or so. Seems to be good wire - solders nicely, flexible, durable enough, no real complaints here. I bought it in red, black, and white, and I imagine those will last me a good ten-twenty years, given that I only use a little bit at a time.

I bought under cabinet LED lights and the wires that came with it are short to go from one side of my sink to the other and one side of my stove to the final light on the chain. I took the LED wire that said 24 AWG, cut it in the middle, attached this 24 AWG wire to it and presto. Works great.

I needed wire, so I got this. It worked just like is should.

The spool arrived exactly as pictured, and the shielding actually feels a little heavier than I expected. Good quality for low voltage projects.
