Because the magnetic method in which it's held together is so satisfying to take apart and rebuild. I use mine less for tracking life because we usually use an app but I use it to track whatever other minor stat my deck depends on (like lifegain, commander tax, etc )

This life counter is nice. I kinda wish the dials were black with white numbers, to make the numbers a little easier to read, but it works perfectly as it is. I was not expecting it to be held together with magnets, but it is appreciated that I could take it apart, mod it, and put it back together if I wanted to. It is a little bit smaller than I was expecting as well, but that's okay. It doesn't need to be large to be functional.

Very flimsy as everything is connected by little magnetics just cheaply made don't recommend

It's a nice little device. Its held together with magnets which is cool. Though one of the magnets on mine isn't that strong, comes apart alittle to easy on the one side. Maybe it's designed that way, it only bothers me slightly.
