Absolutely blown away!
The media could not be loaded. I have a marcum Recon 5 that I’ve used for three years when I’m hole hopping on the ice, but I wanted something with a dvr. I invested in this camera and now I’m selling my marcum! The video quality and ease of use has far exceeded my expectations. The camera on my phone doesn’t quite capture how good the video quality on the unit is. But for the price, it’s 100% worth it.

Good Entry Level Underwater Camera
The media could not be loaded. I have a YouTube demonstration and review for this camera if you want to check it out here: https://youtu.be/s9sVVMKK_lQ. There are a lot of things I like about this camera and a few that I do not. The price is great, the camera is relatively easy to use and it works pretty well. The picture quality is decent considering the price (I think it is around 720p). There were a few things that drove me crazy at first. 1) When you record the files are in .avi format. I use a Mac and these files cannot be viewed by QuickTime or edited in iMovie. If you have a PC I think they work fine. I had to download a avi converter from the internet (I used fonepaw). There are some limitations for these converters unless you buy the pay version but I was able to convert my files to mp4. However the file size went down by about 60% and the videos were noticeably lower in resolution. Since I make YouTube videos and I need the highest quality video this was a big turnoff for me. Another thing I noticed was the record function was turning off on me at random times. Once it turns off it would not turn back on unless I disconnect the power wire and reconnect. When you start recording again you overwrite the files you already recorded (file 1 gets recorded over with a new file 1). This caused me to lose a lot of footage. To get around this every time before I start recording I go to the menu and toggle right to the "format" option - choose format and the SD card gets cleared. Then it will record without problems. I'm not sure why this glitch occurs but this seems to be a good remedy. Even if you think you have a cleared memory card you still need to do the formatting first. Overall now that I figured out these few quirks in regards to the recording I am happy with the camera. I will finish by stating the obvious - the water clarity has to be pretty good in order to have a good experience with this camera. The video I posted here was probably shot in ~ 10ft of water clarity.

Best bang for your buck!
The media could not be loaded. This underwater fishing camera works great and simple to get running. The lithium battery that is included already has some charge, so it’s ready to use immediately. I’m glad the instructions were included, as I was confused as to where the SD card went to record videos. The quality of the camera is solid, as included in my review and the case is durable to take on fishing trips. Overall, it’s a great value.

Battery died after 12 uses (approx)
We’ve had this camera for two years, still in brand new condition, however due to the seasons changing we’ve used it a total of 12 times. Went to prep it this year for ice fishing and the battery will not turn on. Looking to see if we can purchase a new one but it’s not an option. For the price we paid at the time it should last longer than it did. Would not recommended and would give zero stars if I could.

Not 720 x 288 resolution, but 360 x 288, artificially distorted to 720 in recordings
I do like this unit, especially for the price BUT, I do think buyers should realize a few of the built in issues with this product so they can make an informed decision before purchasing:Resolution Issue:The advertised recorded resolution of this camera is 720 x 288, HOWEVER, the 720 figure is artificially created by doubling the camera's actual horizontal pixel count of 360 and distorting the image. In other words, a recording will make objects look twice as wide as they appear normally when you play it back. You can easily observe this if you have a video player app like VLC, and you change the aspect ratio while playing to 5:4. The filmed objects will now appear normal, but the video width will be halved. This underwater camera is really effectively a 360 x 288 video recorder.Color and Contrast Image Adjustment issues:This video recorder has no adjustments for Hue, Brightness, or Contrast. Therefore all adjustments seem to be handled internally and automatically. Unfortunately this seems to be an iffy process and sometimes the colors are way off. In my experience sometimes the water looks pea-soup green, even though on a very clear fresh water trout lake, and other times it's a light gray. This seems dependent on depth and light, not actual water turbidity, algae or flocculence. In fact it can suddenly switch between color hues on the same body of water. Removing the camera from water causes an immediate switch to highly overexposed black and white for in-air video.File Issues:As reported by another customer, sometimes my unit also sometimes stops recording spontaneously if you haven't recently re-formatted the card. It can't also be re-started. This seems to be resolved by re-formatting the card before each use.Physical stability issues:This unit hangs from a thin video and power cable. When ice fishing or fishing from a dock from a fixed position, with no current, the angle of the camera can be maintained by rotating the cable to the position you want. However from a drifting anchored boat and in waves, obviously the camera will change orientation with the movement above. This has nothing to do with the quality of the camera, it's a fact of life. You could change this with modifications: possibly adding a fin for a little more directional stability, or a second cable, providing a span to a second cable spool both mounted on a wooden bar above. Or you could add an underwater tripod or fabricated a base, if you want stability close to the bottom.Limited viewing range:How much you see from the camera will depend on the water clarity and available light. This is true of ANY underwater camera.Do I recommend this camera? Well yes if you understand the above. I like mine, I do wish it was higher resolution for video purposes, and wish it had adjustable color and brightness controls, rather than those being automatic. But the price is right for this camera as-is, I think, and it is providing a lot of fun and fishing information, for me.

Fun little camera with a few drawbacks
The media could not be loaded. I use this underwater camera when I go fishing or just to explore under the fishing docks. The fish don't seem to be camera shy. Lol only problem is the screen gets so much glare you can't really see it when it's sunny even with using the glare guard card that is included. Also, not to hot in water with currents the camera is free to spin around on the line and there is no way to control it. It's also awkward to maneuver the camera with having to control the fishing line and the camera cord. But other than that it is a fun little camera to use and explore under the water.
