Excellent question! Dietz made their flash point determination before Firefly showed up on the scene. Our higher flash point is a combustible product that is safer than the flammable, lower flash point of other petroleum fuels such as kerosene and has virtually no odor. Firefly Fuels, based on our experience, work in any lantern using a flat wick. You may have to change the wick height some to obtain the desired flame. I would also suggest installing a new wick to insure best results from the start. That being said, Firefly is re-introducing a new and MUCH improved Safe & Green fuel very soon. Firefly Safe & Green is non-petroleum based, non-toxic, readily biodegradable and burns brightly with little or no smoke depending on the size of the wick. The new Firefly Safe & Green fuel will revolutionize the entire refillable candle, torch, lantern and lamp fuel market. It will be available on Amazon in the next couple of weeks. The flash point is over 200 F. I am looking forward to your comments about the performance of Firefly Fuels. Phil Tyson, CEO

Q: Can this oil be used with a fire stick to light wood stove?

I would not use it to light a wood stove (unless I wanted to burn down the house around the wood stove). Search Amazon for "fatwood," a natural, resin-impregnated wood. This is a much safer way to get your fire started, and works well for wood and/or charcoal cooking fires. Good luck!
