Very Useful And Practical!
I bought this as a gift for my husband. He was using a kneeboard that wasn't functional. When he received it, he was very happy with how useful and practical it is during the flight. He mentioned the following:1) The clear chart pocket cover on the right allows viewing of folded sectional.2) The clear cover can also be marked with dry-erase marker to track flight path over sectional.3) Plenty of pockets for storage and ready retrieval of important flight reference info.4) Works very well as an in-flight notebook without being too bulky.5) The clipboard has a full complement of FAA VFR weather minimum reference info, comm frequency reference info, and aircraft equipment designation reference info. His only minor complaints are that it could use one to two more pencil holder loops. Currently, it has two. Also, if there were extra Velcro on one of the leg straps, then one can close the entire kneeboard securely when not in use. Otherwise, he is very happy I got this for him!

A matter of opinion
I purchased this long kneeboard with the understanding it can hold charts without having to fold them, which it indeed does. The trade-off is that the kneeboard takes up a lot of real estate on your leg. It's not a big deal and I obviously chose to stick with it because I'd rather not have to fold a chart unnecessarily to fit in the kneeboard. I'm learning to fly in a Cessna 152 so real estate is a premium in that cockpit. I imagine it's less of an issue in larger planes and I would recommend the long kneeboard over the shorter version regardless.

Works great, used for 50 hours of flying so far, leg wrap is a nice addition.
This knee-board is essential for any pilot, i chose to buy this long VFR model since it has the leg wrap so you don't have to worry about dropping maps or pens. I have a TAC chart in the left pocket, checklist & radio call procedures in the middle and airport diagrams and other useful sheets / charts set up on the right side so I can easily glance at them. I've used it for about 2-3 months now and is holding up great, leg wrap is nice, my thighs are about 26" (where the wrap goes around) and isn't too tight or too loose, I would recommend to a friend.

Nice product.
Hey guys!Nice size and very useful with a lot of compartments.I like it a lot.The only thing that I don't like is that when you are not using it, the leg straps are too long to be secure around the other side of the knee board and they hang like tentacles everywhere. If the designers add a little more Velcro to the straps you should be able to use them around the hole thing to keep it close and secure.

I like it as I am 6'2 and it fits my leg nicely to be able to glance at information, store documents or sectionals. The trade off is sometimes it can get the way of the yoke during flight lessons suck as the yoke bumps into the top of it.

Small benefit, and gets in the way of right turns
This is my first kneeboard and I thought that having it long enough to hold a chart not folded vertically would be a benefit in use. Problem is that I just about always seem to need more East/West coverage than a single vertical fold provides, so I wind up removing the chart from the kneeboard pocket to use it. So the benefit is lost. The downside is that the long kneeboard sticks out a fair amount forward of my right knee and can get in the way of right airleron yoke travel unless I pay special attention. One other quality issue. The slots that should have been cut into the fabric to allow one or both of the side flaps to be folded under in-use were not cut. Only stitched like large buttonholes. I will have to cut them myself. Not a big issue, but would have been easy for the item to be supplied ready-to-go.

Little bit larger then expected
Very good item but a little bit larger then youβd expect. If two people had them in a 172 it would be quite a crowded environment.

the length is great for me
I am almost 6ft tall. the length is great for me. The only concern is I have to lower the seat so the yoke doesn't catch the kneeboard. Although, so far this doesn't seem to happen. Great product overall.

Works as expected BUT the E6B blocks the velcro that holds the unit closed, to you have to remove the e6b and slip it inside the leftpocket when you want the velcro to hold the case closed.
