HawkeyeACC-FF-1567 FishTrax Fish Finder Suction Cup Mount

This was what I was looking for but it could be a bit better. I am fortunate to have an extremely smooth kayak hull (Eddyline Caribbean) so the suction cup does attach. I have for now kept it at the most flat part of the hull just before the curve at the water line. When I am not paddling this is fine but when I paddle the waves and cavitation impact the sonar reading. If I can get the angle on the bracket right I am guessing I can attache it lower but I need to do so when I am in the water. That is the key Item I don't like. The bracket is very small in the sense you don't have a lot of play to angel it away or down from the suction cup. It would be great if there was some flexible adapter of sorts like you can get with a camera mount.I did read reviews and I made certain I had a nylon washer to use as a spacer. I put that on one side of the adapter screw beside the provided spacer. IT was enough to fill that gap so when I tightened the screw it dod not bend or break the "wings" on the holder. It was a perfect fit.

I bought this to use with the HawkEye Fishtrax 1C fish finder. I assembled the transducer to the suction mount as instructed. There is a huge gap between the outside of the transducer ears, and the inside of the suction cup ears (see photo). If you try to tighten it down with the included nut, it seriously stresses/bends the suction cup ears, and has the potential for breaking the ears. (see photo) And it doesn't tighten sufficiently to make the transducer secure to the suction mount.I emailed the "Support Center" and they didn't have any answers. I will make it work but not with any help from the "Support Center". Edit: After they finally understood my complaint, they did email me and offered to send a few more washers, but the fact remains that this mount and the 1C ducer are not specifically made for each other.

I love this mount; having my small fish finder right in front of my face, yet out of the way, is nice. I also love having the option of attaching the transducer to this mount or tossing it out on its float foam.Fully adjustable angles for both the fish finder and the transducer.

The suction cup is small and too weak. I even installed a smooth metal plate for better adhesion but not strong enough.

This thing works great, but I would only trust the suction strength when attaching it to a Stick-on Suction Cup mount (The kind for GPS devices), if its attached to anything slightly porous it will pop off too easily. Just buy the $8 mount, stick it to a flat spot on your Kayak/Boat and you have a solid, instantly removable Fish Finder!

So I don't have a Fishtrax Fish Finder, but hummingbird did not make a product like this. I made a simple adapter plate out of 1/4" plastic to attach my PiranhaMax 4. The suction was perfect for cruising speeds and hitting waves. I wasn't about to drill holes in my fiberglass dash and needed a solution that could be removed/installed as needed. Nice product at a very, reasonable price.

Mount requires an extremely smooth surface to work. I had to put tape over the area I wanted to mount it in order for it to stick. I would prefer a different type of mount instead of the suction cup.
