The tent was an easy install and the advantage was immediate. I no longer feel a burst of hot air when the attic stairs are opened. Had to us a hammer to get the staples to go all the way into the extra dry wood of the floor joist.

Works great. I used a staple gun to secure it to the attic door frame. From start to finish, all it took was about 10 minutes. The insulation material is rated at R-15, but I'll see how well it works once it's 100 degrees outside and probably 180 in the attic. Otherwise, I'm pretty happy with it and was much cheaper than getting a similar product at the home improvement store.

From Amazon door delivery - to installed in attic was exactly .30 minutes. With the incredibly cold air that has invaded the southern U.S., my attic was freezing us out on the second floor of the house. Did not fit my opening… thought it was standard size but couldn’t be easier to make fit. Our attic opening is in garage and my research said these attic tents can help save up to 20% on heating and cooling costs. That’s a lot for such a simple fix!

This insulation kit is so easy to install. I should have done it years ago. Took about 15 minutes. I used double sided duck tape to secure it into place. Then stapled along the edges inside edges of the attic access. Then done! It fit the attic access perfectly. Light weight but I can already feel the lack of cold air coming from the attic. The design has stiff sides to keep current attic insulation in place so less mess when I open the ladder. Easy access to inside the attic with a sturdy double zipper along 3 of the sides. Definitely worth every cent.

In the Spring we had our scuttle hole to the attic replaced with pull-down stairs.Now that it's cold out, we've noticed that end of the house not getting as warm as usual. I used a laser thermometer and compared the temperature of the stairs wood door and the surrounding ceiling. The wood door was 10° colder than the ceiling.This cover came quickly. It was a breeze (albeit a very cold breeze!) to install with the battery powered stapler. There was a bit fudging a couple places since my opening was a bit off from the nominal size. I then used some tape around the bottom to secure any air leaks.As soon as I had it in place you could tell the difference. Not that it's installed, I have no difference with the laser thermometer from door to ceiling. This works better than I expected!TWO MONTH UPDATE: It has definitely helped with the draft and cold seeping down. However, our electrician had to do some work in the attic. When he pulled down the stairs it started raining from the cover. There is already water spots on the large piece of wood you pull down.I used some felt gasket around the rim to try and slow down the heat getting to the underside of the cover. That has not helped. I may have to remove the cover in the spring and do something else.

This cover was just the right size for our attic entrance in a 1967 ranch style. It fit perfectly into the corners. The hole measured about 54-1/2 by 25-1/2.There were so many of these covers to choose from for about the same price, and some for significantly more as well. I think that many of them are probably produced in the same China factory and sold under a different brand. I needed one with prime delivery quickly for a weekend installation. This item fit the bill. Took less than 10 minutes to install. Zipper worked smoothly.I did not purchase the stapler as we have an old one that’s been passed down through several generations. I would suggest putting the extra $5 towards a good stapler that you can keep for years to come and use for other projects. The optional ones with these covers look like junk.As others said, I’m also skeptical of the claimed R-value but this cover will definitely be better than having nothing at all. For 24 bucks having one of these is a no-brainer. It’s a shame that I didn’t get one years ago.
