We own 8 of these cameras and have recommended them to many family and friends. They are good quality and easy install. We have them linked to our phones and I pads. We are able to keep on eye on our house for much less that a security monitoring company. We get alerts when someone comes to the house and if anyone is in our yard and driveway. Also helps us see the weather conditions at home when we are out of town.

I have several Arlo cameras installed on the outside of my house -- not that I need them, but it's always better to be safe than sorry. This brand works really well -- I'm impressed with ease of installation and with the App and the high resolution color!

It will notify me all day that our flag is waving in the wind but never records anything of actual value. Only records when triggered so you can't just manually check a specific time. Don't forget you need to subscribe for said non functioning feature.For example: it records the Amazon guy getting out of his truck, but then cuts. Then records two hours later when a squirrel is crossing the street and magically the Amazon box is on the door step. Not one second of the Amazon guy actually delivering the parcel was recorded.

I’ve spent a lot of time going back-and-forth on buying my first surveillance camera. I looked at all the options and each one of them seem to have a trade-off or two. After a few weeks of use, I can say that this camera is a very good option. Set up was very easy. I had no trouble at all pairing it with my Orbi Wi-Fi mesh system. It was also very easy to mount out on the exterior of our house. The resolution is very good and it recognizes both people activity and automobile activity without fail. I was catching some motion alerts from large trucks going past my house however a slight tweak in the motion detection area solved that. When I get an alert, it takes about 5 to 10 seconds for me to get to the live view. Granted you do have to pay the recurring storage fee in order to save and have full access to all your event library but it’s a fairly nominal fee (although this will increase if I add another camera). So far, the battery appears to be almost completely full since install (however I don’t leave the live feed up for long usually). Overall a solid performer.

Purchased two XLs for a relative's house that we monitor on our account. Just coming up on 1 year of operation with these. We just needed to watch her front door and driveway. 1080p is good enough for those spaces. Nice that it doesn't require a hub - I didn't want to buy another one.Impressed with battery life. I think they say the XL battery charge may be good for up to a year - yeah maybe with just a couple of short recordings per day. But we probably capture 20-30 minutes of video per day and the battery lasts close to 60 days between charges. The camera is significantly larger and heavier than the Pro2 cams I have at my house - the XL is all battery. Because of the weight, they can't use the magnet mounts - gotta use hard mounts. Battery is not removable/replaceable.I like the color night vision, but because it requires illumination from the spotlight, they don't see as far as they do when using infrared (IR). We have them set up for Smart Notifcations so we only get alerts when persons are detected (we don't get alerted at 3AM when a cat walks thorugh the yard).I've had 5 Pro2 cams at home for maybe 4 years now, had to go on a paid plan to add these. That gave me Smart Notifications (which I really like) and 30 days of recordings for up to 10 cameras. It's all been pretty reliable. I added a standard battery Essential camera to my house a few months ago, really just to have a driveway cam with color night vision (the rest are IR). Learned that having at least one color camera in a key location is good so you can get a better description of someone that you may need to report to the police. You can't even begin to guess clothing colors on an IR camera. Depending on the material, black clothes can look white under IR lighting. Dark colored cars can look really light too.I have a total of 8 Arlo cameras between 2 houses and have been very satisifed.

I’m on the fence with these cameras. Video and audio quality are pretty good. My problem is they don’t always pick up motion or if they do, it doesn’t actually record until the object is halfway across its field of view. Other times it just decides that it’s recorded enough and will stop recording while there is still activity in its field of view. I’d tell you to buy something else but I don’t know if there are any others that are any better.

Thus, Long-lasting battery, clear night vision, easy installation, and intuitive UI software. Recommended for those seeking a dependable outdoor camera, especially do not want to charge it frequently, for front door monitoring and seamless integration into their smart home setup. Btw, if you want to keep in fully charging, try to install a solar panel with the camera; it is really simple to solve your charging problem.
