Buck Creek Stockman Cracked Ice

As it came the knife was decently packed, plastic, branded paper and a so so box, so I have held my breath and took the knife out of the papar wrap... and oooooh was I upset, what I had in my hands was a knife stained with white residue and finger prints all over it. Ok, I thought maybe it happened at the factory, then I have opened the blades, again all in scratches and with remnants of white residue.. ok, well, I thought this may have been the polishing compound, someone was trying to polish out the signs of use from the blades, so I took soft flannel and carefully wiped the residue of the blades and bolsters... unsatisfying - that revealed a lot of minor and intermediate scratched all over all three blades of the knife... how come? this is german quality - is it not? I have ordered two german pocket knives on the same day from the same company with very positive reviews, I was trying to avoid just that - inaccuracy and resale of preowned, and both knives came with more or less very similar problems. What a pity.

Could not believe the quality! Very impressive for any knife, let alone at this price point. Highly recommended.
