Bulk Micarta Knife Handle Pieces - Assorted Colors & Grains

I've had this cutlery set for years, and the blades are great, but the handles are all cracking. I've never abused them, never put them in the diswasher, but they're cracking anyway. Micarta has fabric embedded in it, and the fibers look like they should make it stronger. I'll find out in another 20 years. It's very easy to work with. It sands like wood without all the idiosyncrasies, and the sanded surface has an interesting texture. I was tempted to use a sealer, but instead just sanded, wet sanded, buffed and polished it. We'll see how the appearance holds up under use and washing. If I need to re-polish it, I think I will apply a sealer.

I have made a few knives from this sheet alone and the quality is very good! I will definitely buy it again!

Great product

As with everything from TKS, this is high quality material. I got the canvas 5x12x3/8 in black. However, with the cost of the micarta, and the “full freight” shipping charges, it is a pricey way to go. I couldn’t get the pre-cut scales because I needed slightly bigger pieces to fit the handle on a large survival knife. I really wish it was more cost effective to buy this, but unfortunately I’ll be looking at local sources where I can pick it up to save on the initial cost and also the shipping. Again, high quality micarta, you will not be dissatisfied with this.With canvas micarta, it works better to leave it rough, in my opinion. If you want a polished finish, perhaps for kitchen knives, look at a linen or paper micarta.

This is precisely what it is claimed to be. It is being used to replace kitchen knife plastic handles which have cracked over the years and some pieces of the handles actually fell off. The knives were of sufficient quality to justify replacing the handles. A certain level of skill in working with materials and the correct tools are necessary to be successful.

Very good durable material, bought it to use as a spacer between the guard of a knife and the handle, also plan on using it for handle material

Works great for knife handles, when you need a custom size.
