This timer can be used to schedule any On/Off period(s) you can imagine! You can schedule multiple On/Off periods per day and you can even vary the On/Off periods from day-to-day. You can turn the device "on" on one day and turn it "off" on another day. This timer is very dynamic! However, when a timer can be programmed to do almost anything imaginable, the programming can become slightly complex. Don't be intimidated. It's not difficult once you determine what needs to be done. I had to (carefully) read the instructions a couple of times. Setting the time-of-day is easy. Setting to On/Off periods is simple once you understand what is needed. I set the timer to turn on Christmas lights at 6:00 pm and off at 10:00 pm, seven days a week. You must first set the "on" time (only) and then set the days when the lights should be turned on. Finally, you set the "off" time. That should do it, right? No! Because the timer is so dynamic, you must also set the days of the week when the timer should be turned off. You would think if you had one "on" time for each day of the week and an "off" time 4 hours later it would apply for each day of the week that the timer was turned on. Not so! Once I learned the programming nuances, the timer worked great!

Quality product with easy to use features

I ordered two double packs of these timers several months ago to use with our Christmas lights. Last night I took them out of the box for the first time to test them. I programmed their on/off function one-by-one to test them with a single lamp. To much disappointment, none of the four timers performed. Two of them would not turn on the lamp at all. The other two, turned the lamp on at the programmed time, but did not turn it off when it was programmed to do so. I am a techy so, I have no doubt that I programmed these correctly and precisely in accordance with the enclosed instructions.The looks and feel of these timers are misleading, they come across as high quality items, but they do not deliver what they are supposed to. In my opinion buying these timers is a waste of money.

The timers received had the incorrect programing and would not work.Top Greener is sending correct units. Was told if I returned units to Amazon I may receive units again with incorrect programing. Top Greener is testing units prior to sending replacements to me.Great customer service, poor quality control.

Just what I wanted. Hope it lasts longer than its predecessor

I bought the TGT09 timers to control the power to a string of white led sconces.I am using the astronomic (sunrise/sunset) feature, set for the Central USA region and it is working well so far.I found this timer to be easier to set up than other astronomic timers I have owned.Also, the LCD display and keys are back-lit in blue for ~ 20 sec after any key-press, improving readability (timer needs to be plugged-in for this feature, though).

We are using this to turn off our Wifi router every evening when we are sleeping and then turning it back on again in the morning. Its great because we can customize the program for each day to work around our schedules. Stays on later on weekends and earlier on week days. Also easy to override if we get up earlier than when its scheduled to come on you just hit one button and your good to go and it won't affect all your other programs. It took a few min to figure out how to program it but once I did it was very easy to use. I really like that the buttons and display are on the top of the device, it makes them very easy to see when you are looking down at the receptacle that its plugged into. All front faced display timers you have to almost get down to floor level to see the display/programs.

This is a good product. A little tricky to set up the first time as there are several steps however once you get the hang of it it is easy. I have been using these for several months now and I have noticed that over the course of time they have each (I have all four going) added 10 minutes to the time... when I first noticed it a few weeks ago it was only 5 minutes-weird...I would still recommend them but because of the clock showing additional time being added I can only give them 4 stars.

Very easy to read display as it says, however I did have to go over the instructions more than once on how to program the timers properly. Which is better than reading through once & not understanding or misprograming the timers all together. Very convenient with multiple timers which you can set for various times of the day or week in which you wish your timers to be in use. Has ALREADY SAVED me money on older model style window airconditioner, which during the summer months usually end up paying $25+ dollars for use because of timers being energy efficient & multi times set I don't have to worry about turning the airconditioner on or off during different times of day. Which gives me a piece of mind about not having to worry about MONEY used & can watch the savings come pouring on in!!!

I didn't get a chance to test it's operation because right out of the box I noticed something I should have seen in the pictures: When it is plugged into one outlet of a two-outlet wall plug, it blocks the other plug. Also, because it is three prong, I can't plug it into 2-prong extension cord. It is a design rather than a manufacturing flaw, but it means that I can't use the timers I ordered and I had planned to.

Hi, the timer is working as expected for the first week. I was able to figure out the setup, but it took some trial and error. My suggestion for the manufacturer is to follow the stated instructions exactly to set up a single timing cycle without pressing any other buttons than what the instructions say. Then see if the timer follows the timing cycle. I think I followed exactly but had to tinker to get the right cycle. And I don't believe it was clear how to select one of the 18 cycles.
