I tried them at a friend's house and I loved the most delicious cookies

Tasted stale and old. Chocolate was discolored and cracked and falling off the cookie. Wasted my money.

I buy these every year for Christmas and they are really good.

The first time I had lebkuchen was in Germany. Many years have gone by. I was very much looking forward to this nostalgic treat, but I was so disappointed with the cookies I ordered. If I could give the cookies 0 stars, I would. Wow. The backs of the cookies had this layer of edible rice paper. The cookies have chocolate on the front & edges only. The back consists of this rice paper. So peculiar. Anyway, the cookies were dry & stale. They're in the waste bin. I guess I'll have to make bake these cookies myself.

Have purchased these in Germany, but these were stale and crumbly.

They were fresh upon delivery. Reminds me of Christmas long ago when there was no Amazon and relatives mailed them to us from Germany and we were so excited to get them

The cookies tasted okay, but definitely don't look like the cookies shown on the order page. The chocolate coating looks old and oxidized with big cracks in the cookies and some of the chocolate falling off. As others have stated on here, it looks like the chocolate got stored hot. The cookies I received were about 6 months away from their "best by" pull date, but looked like they were 10 years old in the package as you can see in the picture. As mentioned, they taste okay but I wouldn't want to serve them to anyone else, so it is disappointing that someone would even think this is okay to ship out cookies that look this bad.

My husband loves this. His mother always had it for Christmas so I gave it to him in his stocking. He said they were so good. I will buy them again
