Oscilloscopes: A Manual for Students, Engineers, and Scientists

A good read for background and use of oscilloscopes.
This is a useful manual on the development and use of an oscilloscope. Includes a schematic on making and using an Octopus Curve Tracer with you Oscilloscope. I fabricated my own curve tracer and started using it with my oscilloscope right away.

I've had a very old cathode ray type oscilloscope for years. I've been able to make it do the little I want. It has packed up and at the moment I've offered it to a museum! So I've bought a new, fairly low spec digital and want to know how to use it. This was the only oscilloscope book I could find. It is very difficult to follow and seems to jump about. It is unnecessary complicated, I don't need to understand what all the components in the instrument do. A bit like a car I need to be able to check the oil and water but not to dismantle the engine and gear box in order to drive it.I have the manual that came with the scope, that explains how to use it and have found an on line guide by Tektronix which is about 60 pages which explains why you use it and what the various settings mean. Clearly laid out, indexed and a glossary.SAVE YOUR MONEY search how to use an oscilloscope and download 03W_8605_7_HR_Letter.pdf

Utile ma non indispensabile
Il titolo è un pò ambizioso. E' una introduzione all'oscilloscopio e ad alcuni dei suoi principi basici.

O-scope book.
I've had the jobs of every vehicle and aircraft from Tanks, to mopeds, large Scale Drones to fighter jets. And the Mechanics classes for all of them. Both Civilian and Military.I wished I had the book 40 years ago.The technical details and simplicity are found on every page.If a Highscool Student where to study this book, it carry them the rest of their life.Excellently written. And detail is superb.I bought it as a refresher book for my electronics bench. But the fact this book thermal dynamics gauss and other unique details that go beyond just another scope book was surprising.I have a son going into Fleet systems Diagnostics. And schematic references in this book and my electronics skills. I think we'll produce another Advanced electronics mechanic in the Heavy Equipment field.Love the book.
