This is a book not only for Actors, but also for public Speakers.
This book is great for me to find exercises for my Public Speaking Students; The biggest problem is the dreaded fear my students have when it is their turn to speak. I was looking for a book that spoke to this issue, and I remembered that I studied Acting with the author in the 1980tys, and I thought to myself, "I wonder if Erik Morris has his books on Amazon. I remember reading his first book, "No Acting Please." because of that book I joined his workshop and I remembered his exercises to help the actor . I was delighted to find all his books on Amazon and to top it off, Kindle access. If you are an actor who cannot get confident because of stage fright, or a person who has to give speeches and dread it, you need this book. He says that "At the root of almost all instrumental issues is the lack of self-esteem, of a healthy ego, or of entitlement." I will indeed suggest this book to my Speech students, I look forward to trying out some of the exercises. Mr Morris goes into very sensible discussions about why this is such a big issue with actors, and as I read this book, I see the same thing happening semester after semester in my classes. Lastly, if you want to be an actor, purchase this book.

Eric Morris is a living Master and Genius
Eric Morris has contributed more to the study of acting, with his body of multiple books, than anyone who has ever lived and taught acting. He has developed hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of exercises to liberate your talent...to facilitate access to your unconscious (where basically all your talent is, to basically quote Eric Morris), your imagination, your emotional life...your body and your voice.Actors are, in part, "professional experiencers," to again quote Eric Morris. When I studied with Eric, his work changed my life. Use his exercises with respect, care and love. They offer you tools you cannot find anywhere else. Creativity is sacred and should be honored as such.I'm proud Eric's work is a part of what we teach at the school I founded in New York, significantly inspired by Eric and how his worked changed my life and my performing life.Get this book. Get all his books. Live them, breathe them...as Eric used to say in class, "There is more to learn about acting than being a heart surgeon."This is because Eric knows actor training never stops. It's a life-long journey where one reexamines identity over and over and over. Where we change masks, only the masks are very real... It all begins with your truth, as Eric so profoundly teaches. Once you've dealt with your personal obstacles, it's on to making a GRAND STATEMENT based on your artistic point of view -- how you want your work to shape and influence this troubled world we live in. What will your statement be? Let Eric's work help you access the earth, wind and fire of your soul! Thank you, Eric, for your profound contribution to our community. It will be celebrated for a very long time to come.

Brilliant stuff
Eric Morris is one of the acting great teachers of our time. I recommend all his stuff. Really helped me unlock a lot of emotional blocks. These activities are good for anyone looking to feel and act more free.(says me an out of work actor, so maybe take my opinion with a pinch of salt!)

This book is probably good for a new actor - the information is not ...
I've not finished reading this book but Eric Morris has some very great books out there with loads of information that is very helpful no matter what technique you're using.

Acting MUST
If you're an actor, this book is a must buy and a great investment in you craft and yourself. I studied with Eric for years personally and this is a key for a lot of the instrumental exercises he teaches and walks individuals through. I was glad to have bought it and use it weekly.
