Cheap and easy and die fast.
UPDATE: I have two and both have stopped working. They will no longer get a satellite lock. They worked about 6 times each. Very disappointed. I am trying the ones from sparkfun now.........OLD:Great price and easy to work with. The warm start time is rather disappointing. Sparkfun.com now has a module in this price point.

Go with something better
I followed the Parallax guide and use the TinyGPS + Arduino library and I get pretty poor results with this module. It is often about 50 meters off and only locks on to 3-4 satellites when outdoors and no clouds.

The Parallax GPS module works as expected. I have tested the device on both an Arduino Uno and also a C.H.I.P 9$ computer.

Accurate, fast, and inexpensive.
Provides GPS coordinates within a couple meters in NMEA or binary. I only know about the binary because I accidentally set it in binary mode copying and pasting from a datasheet and not double checking what I was doing while trying to set the baud rate. Putting it back into NMEA was a monster pain in the butt because I had to search frantically for the proper string to send it. So.... don't do that. That said, this supports pretty-much all the baud rates between 4800 and 115200. And binary, if you happen to swing that way.
