Approximately how many photos can it store?

Can you erase photos from the Picture Keeper after you transfer them to your computer (so I can buy the 32gb and use it again instead of the 64gb)?

Can someone please explain- why am i buying this when i can plug my phone directly in my pc to back up?

After backup is compete, are photos still viewable on my phone until I delete them?
