It's OK, but not a Keeper
If you want a quick and close to measurement, this device is it. Resistance measurement is not accurate below 10s of ohms, but capacitance has good range and transistor testing works. As for quality, it's limited. The LCD screen on the one I received has a scratch about an 1" long on it. The test leads are cheap and flimsy. The battery is a rechargeable via USB type of power supply, but it's life is short. This is the second version of this type of tester I've tried that has this type of base circuitry. The previous one was the one on the site labelled M328. Gong to return this one and hope that 3rd times a charm.

FANTASTIC FOR THE PRICE !
It arrived within the estimated delivery time. The box was a little beat up but everything inside was in good condition. After immediately charging it's battery up I spent a few hours testing a multitude of various (spare - some new, some used) parts in my spare parts "junk box". It does exactly what the description says it should. Yes, there was no manual. Yes I had to do a little Google work to find one. It's pretty simple and if you know what the parts should do that you are testing... it is very easy to use.Fantastic low cost (cheap) tester for the price. Is it perfect ? No,,, but for the price it's a great deal ! Like any piece of test equipment you use, you need to know what to expect from it.

Too Cool!
I still need to recite ROY G BIV when I try to figure out a resistor's value. And then, I may not be quite sure if I got the multiplier right. Forget about transistors.Whack your components into this cute little gizmo and it'll tell you what you need to know.Bonus - it can read and decode IR signals (say from your TV or other remote) - as soon as I tried that I thought of a couple of projects. And, since it can tell me the values of components, I don't need a magnifier and just the right angle for the lights in order to figure out what I just picked up.I wouldn't necessarily trust it for really precise measurements - that's what the more expensive multimeter does.Anyway - just buy one of the things - it's dirt cheap and can provide hours of amusement, depending on how easily you're amused and how many resistors, diodes, transistors, capacitors and IR remotes you have handy.

Works ok but quality assurance is non existant.
The unit I received had a big gouge on the top of the top part screen like someone stabbed at it with pen. Thankfully there is space underneath, so the LCD was not damaged. The button has a tendency to get stuck "pressed down" by getting caught underneath the case. It won't turn on again until you fix it. I suspect it may drain the battery too.Speaking of the battery, it drains while it's off. Get ready to have to charge it before use after a few weeks unused. For the price it's ok, but a minimum of extra effort would have made this a much better meter.

This is a very experimental test tool and not always accurate with limited battery life
It lights up and seems to read most parts when tested. It is not always accurate when testing things onboard even with capacitors. I used it an ESR and some caps would read 16 pico when it is actually 460 micro farads, it was tested multiple times and sometimes it could not detect the existence of the part at all. The ESR and capacitor meter would pick it up every time, even when it is still mounted on the board still.Another item I tested was an 120V Triac switch from a lamp. It would not give me a proper measurement, it found it as a capacitor or a resister half of the time. I had to fall back to my analog meter to determine if the traic was working or not. The old analog meter confirmed that it was defective. If you are just testing pulled parts from the board, it might be OK. However most of my testing is onboard most of the time and diagnosing issues of electronics, it wasn't exactly what I was expected because of the inconstancy of readings I was getting. Maybe quick preliminary test and reconfirm with other equipment or just use other equipment to confirm. That depends how much time you have on your hands end of the day.The item did not come with a manual so I am not sure exact how it is really connected to the item to be tested. The other thing I found really annoying with it is the USB charging end on it. It will not take the standard USB cable on it, as it will keep coming loose from it and pop off, the cable that comes with it works well but the length is way too short to my liking because the battery doesn't last long unless you keep preparing to keep charging ahead of time before use. Time your usage ahead of time, battery may last about 1/2 day usage, your mileage may vary. It is not like a meter and comes on almost anytime you want to turn it on and change the battery once a year or every few years. If this was fully functional as it should be, that would be very nice. However due to the issues with lack of documentation and inaccuracies with reading and limited battery life. It is not a must have tool or replacing any of my tools anytime soon.It is only a 2 star rating because I think it could have done a lot better solving the documentation, USB connector and battery life at the very least like all the other test equipment.Great idea and design but it seriously needs improvement which they could have foreseen given whatever other existing test equipment is out there without these issues for decades.
