Hello, I am the seller. You can try our matching tape, if it still leaks. That may be that your installation is not strong enough. Reassemble it again. The black rubber ring must be placed on the white outlet pipe of the water outlet. First put the white nut into the water outlet hose, then put on the rubber ring (set it as far as possible), and then tighten the nut, so generally it will not leak. If it still leaks, please email us and we will do our best to solve your problem.Wish you a happy life every day.

Yes it will work with 1 1/4” drain which come out directly from the sink. If you mean 1 1/4” to the sewer main which come out of the wall then you need adopter from 1 1/4” to 1 1/2” or 2”

Q: Do I still need to vent this trap with a studor? Or does this design do it

No , it does it by itself no need additional ventilating parts

Q: Can it be used for a pedestal sink and also my sewer pipe comes from the floor.

I believe it can be use on pedestal sink. It is narrow to be hidden. I believed I saw images on internet showing that application. For my use we installed a new raised bathroom vanity (with short Legs) this effected the clearance for a standard P-trap By a shelf under the sink. Hope that helps
