I love this board it is jam packed with features and wont dissapoint.The Asus Rog Maximus Z690 Hero is a Premium Motherboard from a Company you can Trust.This board is an Excellent Choice for Gaming and what i use also for my Day to Day Video editing and Normal activity.It has wifi 6e, thunderbolt 4. ddr5 memory support and an expantion card for even more nvme storage.it has support for latest intel cpus.An excellent all round motherboard

Motherboard arrived quickly and well packaged. The board was really nice and clean looking, I really love the look of the heat sinks on the VRM's and around the PCIE area. The board had a good selection of rear IO ports and also a good selection of connectors on the motherboard ranging from RGB connections, lots of fan headers and a selection of connectors for water coolers to monitor them correctly.The motherboard came with all the necessary pieces and some nice extras which included a wrist strap (ROG) a fan and mount to provide extra cooling which was all nice. Instructions were easy to read and my computer booted straight away. Would highly recommend this board if you plan on using a higher end CPU to overclock as there is a good amount of cooling and support for cooling.

Really happy with this board so far. only had it running a few days though.Building was fast and easy. only a slight issue with the size of the rear io fitting in my phantek p400 case. i had to leave some motherboard screws out. Also the board is thin so i had to shim the cpu cooler mount on my corsair H100 v2. I did this with some washers.Im running an i5 9600k in mine and with the cooler its sitting at 30 degrees (fans on silent). on boost its about 50 so plenty of room for overclocking. I'll report back once ive done that. The CPU mount is tight so it was a little scary pulling that lever down. Its been a while since i last did one. But it located perfectly.the AI suite software has advanced a lot since my old p8p67 pro. Also the Bios is really easy to use. I had windows up and running in less that 15 minutes using UEFI boot.Fan control is awesome. also the RBG lighting looks pretty pimp.The motherboard doesn't come in a static bag. I thought this was strange but apparently its normal for ROG boards. That said the board worked great so obviously isn't an issuei've included some pictures. I haven't tidied the fan wires yet because they are too short so don't judge me lolUPDATE: The CPU temp is stuck on 11 degrees. This is in both bios and AI suite. This makes tuning the fans difficult. I seem to remember Asus temps are always a bit wild but this is clearly a fault. I'm going to run a 2pin thermal sensor instead and hope its just a software issue.now running 4.8ghz with 1.35 volts. realtemp is showing 70 degrees max temp.

Top quality and aesthetics, full of features, interface includes more connections and ports than required by the average user. Only problem is the 4090 is very thick and interferes with the second PCI that I could use for M2 additional NVMEs.

The product was faulty, one of the error codes was (16),there were many more also. Looked on forums and it seems to be a common fault. Would be a good idea to test these correctly before sending from USA to UK. So now I'm stuck on building my PC until the new one is delivered. Let's hope this one has no error faults. Otherwise my next review may not be as polite.

Good board, but be aware of its limitations. The first board I received had a bent over and snapped capacitor and bent pins, the second was fine.HDMI out didn't work at all (post d6 code) when I first received the board, luckily I had a simple PCIE graphics card to hand that I could quickly throw in to get the BIOS updated, running the latest BIOS version resolved the issue completely.However, be aware of its storage limitations, if you use NVMe slot 2 it takes the PCI-E slots down from 16x to 8x, using slot 4 disables SATA 5&6 and to add insult to injury using the third PCI-E slot then disables SATA 3&4. So for a board supposedly with 4 NVMe slots and 6 SATA ports, in reality I have 3 NVMe slots and 2 SATA ports.

I bought this motherboard because I wanted one that had coolant waterblock made for the VRM (EKWB does it). Whilst it most definitely satsfied me in that regard, the specs are also impressive as it comes with 5th gen PCIe slots, DDR5 slots (and dashing 256GB RAM capacity!), and gen 5 NVMe slots. I updated the BIOS and used XMP2 profile, then tweaked CPU clocks a little bit. No issues with the MOBO itself so far, a bit annoying that it won't see keyboard from USB hub for the BIOS, but maybe one day ASUS will address that trivial issue. If you have high performance setup this MOBO will not only serve you well, but do more, and it is a great investment also because it is ready for next gen tech (whenever they come out, prob in 2025). I highly recommend getting VRM and PCH (chipset) for this MOBO as they tend to run red hot!
