Q: What are the dimensions of this transformer?

Q: Can I use it in reverse? in an inverter circuit maybe?

I am not familiar with an inverter, however as you know any transformer needs pulsating dc current or ac current to function. it can be either a step down transformer or a step up transformer. hope this helps you.

Q: Do i connect both red wires to one of the ac wire and black ones to the other or connect the two center wires together and ac to two outermost wires?

The diagram is on the unit. Red to red and black to black for 120 volt. For 240-volts, tie center red to center black. Use outer black and red to connect your AC.

Q: So the center tap on output to any leads is 12 volts and if I omit the center tap and connect the two blue wires I get 24V?

if you put 120vac on the primary side you will get 12vac on the secondary side, if you use the center tap and an outside lead only. either one of the outside leads and a center tap. if you use only the two outside leads and no center tap then YES you will get 24vac. some circuits require the use of all 3 secondary leads. 2 blue only, equals 24vac. 1 blue(either one) and 1yellow equals 12vac.
