Falsely Advertised. On the product, the documentation and the box, the only filtering mentioned is "Chlorine Taste and Odor". Nowhere does it mention filtering ANYTHING else. The product is labeled for 300 gallons of usage NOT 400. Basically, the seller had an incompetent oversight (hardly), shipped the wrong product (unlikely since other reviewers have said the same) or outright LIED. I suspect the latter.Other than the misrepresentation, the product fit my Whirlpool refrigerator exactly as the OEM version. However, my original filter also filtered lead and other contaminates. I was told that I was receiving a product "equal to or better" than the OEM but instead received an inferior product. I will not buy this product again. The misrepresentation is enough to never buy again, no matter how much money is saved.

Good price and fast shipping but not as advertised.Product description claims the filter is NSF 42/53 but that is not stated anywhere on the filter, it's packaging, or included literature. The filter only states that it reduces chlorine and odors which would only be NSF 42.Furthermore, the product description says the filter is good for 400 gallons (depending on water condition) but the filter clearly states that it is only good for 300 gallons.You may also want to know that the product is manufactured in China.

Ordered these based on two criteria. One is price, which is important to me but not as critical as quality. When I am shopping for filters, I specifically look for an NSF rated Class 1 filter, which is what is stated in this listing. The product received does not list these specifications anywhere on the package or product. This leads me to believe that what I have instead are the poor quality cheap knock off filters I try to avoid. I'll be returning these to get the product I was seeking regardless of cost. If you care about your water and filter quality, I would avoid this filter. If all you want a filter that fits the models of refrigerator specified in this listing, you've probably found a great deal that will ship quickly.

The first filter I used worked without issue. However, the second one sprayed and leaked all over my kitchen floor, requiring an hour's cleanup effort. Because I inserted the second filter several months after the first one, the seller would not send a replacement since it was past their 90-day warranty.I will never purchase these again and have switched to another brand here on Amazon (the other brand was similarly priced and worked flawlessly). If trying these, be sure to try all of them right away, otherwise, this seller will not honor their warranty.

I see a lot of people saying these do not fit their fridge and I finally figured out why. After trying and trying to install this filter, it just wouldn't sit in there properly and make the quarter turn that it needs to lock in place. It seemed to be identical in shape to the old one, but it just wouldn't go in. After repeated attempts I took it out and examined the old and new filter carefully side by side. I noticed that the plastic the "U" shaped lip that is intended to keep it in was getting smushed from my repeated attempts to install. Then I noticed that my old original filter had a much thinner "U" than the new filter.Out of sheer curiosity, I grabbed my Dremel and shaved down the edge of the "U" shaped part just where it was catching and voila! It fit perfectly! So this means the manufacturer of this product just isn't reproducing the original design quite right.I ran water through it and it seemed fine, but as I was sitting in my living room I heard something awful . Water gushing!!! I ran into the kitchen to see the bottom of the fridge spraying water all over the floor. I quickly shut off the water valve, but man did I have a mess to cleanup. IT FLOODED MY KITCHEN AND DINING ROOM. Soaked my wood floors and made me soooo MAD!!!!When I took out the the filter to examine what had happened, I saw that the rubber gasket that is designed to be tight and keep the water in the fridge and NOT all over my floor had come half way off. Just to confirm this was the problem I reseated it back on there and screwed in the filter again and it didn't leak.Look people, I fell victim to the save a few bucks and buy the cheap knock-off but you don't have to make the same mistake I did.1. It didn't fit until I modified their design (which you shouldn't have to do)2. The loose gasket came off and flooded my house3. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND JEOPARDIZE YOUR HOUSE!Ok, rant over.

I've purchased this product previously and found it to be a great replacement for the original Kenmore cartridges. And, it's a fraction of the cost when purchased separately from Sears. Very pleased with the quality and longevity of the filters. -- rgc
