New WizKids Star Trek HeroClix Tatics II 4 Ship Starter Set NECA 2012 Fearless

I looked forward to getting this Starter set because I love how Wizkids included the Star Trek franchise into their Heroclix line. This is a welcome departure (for the Star Trek fan at least) from the standard super hero clix that are all the rage.The sets are smaller and, with each expansion, they are filling in more of the Star Trek lore. If you are a Star Trek fan and are like the Heroclix concept then you'd enjoy these.However, and this is big, these are not meant to be played with the standard super hero clix, they are very much their own game with the maximum enjoyment coming from playing the Federation against the Klingons for example instead of Superman against the Enterprise. It won't be very fun as these ships are made to be played together.It comes with two, double sided maps with game scenarios on both sides, the four ships, the cards for the four ships, two dice and the very welcome updated Powers and Abilities explanation card as well as an official Rulebook.Game play is the same as regular clix only tailored for ship-to-ship combat with most of the adaptations being logical and very enjoyable.I have the first Starter set and several individual pieces and plan on doing the same with this set.Only problem is finding people to play since most people who play Heroclix are hooked into the super hero portion pretty deep and you may have a hard time convincing them to try something that's the same, just slightly different because they are ships instead of comic book characters. But, if you have some Star Trek fans who know, or would be willing to learn, Heroclix, a whole lot of fun awaits.(PS, there are a ton of "how to" videos online for learning standard Heroclix if the Rule book seems a little confusing. That and finding local places to play is how I learned. And since it's the same game, very little adaptation was needed when switching over to Star Trek clix.)

I got the package a day before scheduled delivery, which is incredible. Everything came as should be and I am impressed about the product. They will be a good, fun game to learn. The only issue was that one of the pieces came with a small piece broken off. I believe this to be due to shipping and handlers and not the store.

My son picked up the love for Star Trek from his uncle. Anything and everything he wants. He was over the moon for this!They are made of plastic. Graphic details are just ok. They seem massed consumed. You get what you pay for.Pleased for my son.

What a great starter set you get everything you need in one place, 4 great ships and ship cards, rule book, powers and ability's card, 4 maps and 2 6d dice. A little learning curve and you are on your way to the final frontier. Look at it this way it may get you and kids away from the electronics devises for a while and that is a good thing, you may even have some fun with the kids while you are at it. Happy gaming and let the adventure begin.

The figures are nice, the game has potential, but its more complex than it needs to be and finding opponents is difficult. It's nice to have if you play a lot of games, but there is no instance where this is a good introductory game.It's fun, but there are much better games available. I give this 3 stars.

Everything arrived as expected in good shape. Having read everyone else's reviews of the product, there were no surprises. For the price, the quality is as one would expect.

An excellent expatiation of series 1, the new ships and maps included in the pack are a welcome addition to any fleet.
