It's entirely confusing how this movie fell flat at release. The music is awesome, the comedy is rhodium.I've seen "professional" reviews that just don't seem to even get what this is about, they say things like "We've seen this too many times, a show about rock losers making it big" - which is not remotely even what the plot of this is. It's like they didn't even watch the movie, but are reviewing it.I don't know what was up the behinds of the "professionals" who reviewed it, wrong audience, I guess. Maybe that's where the missing pick of Destiny went. It's definitely one of those movies where the audience likes it far better than the so called professional critics.So the movie has them trying to look for a shortcut to greatness, but they never become great. They do beat the literal Satan though, which is one of the most fun parts of the movie.It's a bunch of fun comedy adventures starring two amazing comedians and musicians, but also a cast of people around them from the Tenacious D tv show, getting to reprise their roles here in "the real world."There is no real underlying message (thank God), it's just a fun and hilarious movie with great songs.

Clearly I’ve seen this movie forever ago. One night I seen a vid that made me think and miss this movie so I watched it AGAIN and of course still absolutely loved it 😂💯😊💗

Loved Jack black and his Almost equally loved counterpart.This movie is in the stones list for best movie ever!

The first time I watched this movie, I was embarassed to be viewing it even in front of my two friends. The first half of the movie was absurd, and I wasn't a fan of "musicals," which this pretty much is. I thought this movie (and the album) would be better after hearing "The Metal," and had high expectations that just weren't met.Flash forward to now. A new friend loves Jack Black and talked about him all the time. So, I went to check on what Tenacious D was up to and found out that a new album had been released fairly recent, Rize of the Fenix. I bought it and listened. The very first song, Jack acknowledged that critics said bad things about The Pick of Destiny, and it wasn't that great. I ended up loving the album because it sounded like "classic D." So, I re-watched the movie.Without the expectations, this is a good movie. The songs tell the story (like a traditional musical, even if it doesn't quite follow what I expected of Tenacious D) and a lot of the songs aren't bad at all. Think of it like a musical, and everything makes sense while you sit through an action-packed movie about "the birth of Tenacious D," two losers learning more about music and themselves. Even if you're not a fan of "dumb" comedies, everyone's gotta crack a smile at the sheer absurdity of JB using his cock to press a button just out of reach, or the parking lot scene where a crippled man tries to hold the boys up at knifepoint...while he's standing a few yards away. And who didn't smile warmly or even cheer when JB finally does a perfect power slide through a closing door?Tenacious D has been called "mock rock," and with that in mind, treat this movie like a "mock musical." It tells a story, mostly with songs. There is a lot of funny dialogue, memorable characters, and nods to rock legends we all know and love. It took me a good 4 years to really appreciate it, so obviously you have to have a stiff sense of humor and an attitude problem to not like it. Remember, this is Tenacious D. Don't take it so seriously.

The movie was great, duh, we all know that.This DVD however is delivered in the flimsiest disc case I’ve seen. If the delivery driver or handlers weren’t gentle in your area, your disc could easily be broken due to this flimsy case.

Tanked with a capital T. Enough said.

It is Amazing. Jack Black, Kyle Gass with the support of Ben Stiller and Tim Robbins, gave us a great and unbelievably Movie.Tenacious D is one the bands I prefer, JB and KG are good musicians and soundtrack of this movie is great, the laughs are plentiful, and the storyline is simple, entertaining, yet complex.You have to see this movie if you love rock music!Unfortunatly my dvd arrived ruined, but I'm going to buy another one from another reseller.

un cult... possibilmente non riconosciuto in tempi moderni ma avrà la sua gloria nel futuro ... uno dei più bei film mai visti dal sottoscritto.. la più bella trasposizione del metal in racconto ... i pezzi originali spaccano da morire per quanto contengano testi ovviamente ricollegabili solo al film sono decisamente creati in maniera eccellente.Il dvd ha delle pecche ma vale la pena averlo in quanto come sempre succede in italia non siamo in grado di capire quale sia la differenza da un film del genere e il solito cinepanettone che viene invece distribuito anche il bluray...roba da pazzi insomma.Prendetelo che ne vale la pena-

DVD is only playable in certain countries NOT canada, when I contacted the seller they said all they could do was send a refund if i shipped back the product. not worth it. so now I have a useless DVD and boyfriend cannot watch it.
