Q: Does this work with a common domestic outlet?

Yes it uses standard 110 - 120 American outlet. But you can't use mulch else on the same circuit, it uses 14 amps on a 15 amp circuit breaker.

Q: Looking to use this with a generator. Trying to figure out what size generator though. Advice?

I have a similar LG 8000btu LP0818WNR with specs nearly identical to this portable A/C that can be easily powered by my Ryobi inverter 1800/2000 watt generator. After retiring I moved to west Florida, when hurricanes come knocking, and FPL power goes offline, having a portable AC is money well spent.

Q: What is wrong my unit Ran first day for 2 hours and I shut off. Next day turned on for about 20 minutes and then turned off and won’t turn back on.
