YIkes, I order bottarga at least once a month, sometimes twice, and this is the first bad review I've given. I've had "older" bottarga that's a little darker and crumblier than I would like but it still usually has decent flavor. This was not that. It was really musty and off tasting--finally ended up throwing it in the compost. I hadn't ordered from this seller on purpose; Amazon substituted it when my usual brand was out of stock. But definitely won't be going back for more.

We purchased Bottarga cured fish eggs, after the product was recommended as a superfood to add into our son's diet. He is currently dealing with gut issues and we are always on the lookout for what is most beneficial to him. I wasn't quite sure what he would think as this has a very different flavor from the types of foods he is used to. However, he enjoys the saltiness of the fish and now adds Bottarga to his meals twice a day. We are very impressed by the health benefits attributed to this superfood.

I've read reviews of several bottarga, and keep trying for a good quality. This one is the winner so far. It was packed well, tasted decently, and moist enough for my taste.

I was shocked to see how dark this product is on the outside. All mullet bottarga I have purchased is golden, orange on the outside. Never the less, once grated it is orange in color and does taste okay. Not the best I have had, but not terrible.

I love the dried mullet roe. It has a distinctive light fish flavor that goes perfectly grated over salads and poke bowls. The portion on this is plenty for grating over several salads and it stores well if put in a ziplock bag and kept in the refrigerator after opening. The shipping was quick as well.

Way too expensive for the old, dark, stale-smelling item that arrived. I've eaten this caviar around the world. How can a company advertise and price this item like it is from a 3 star restaurant in Paris and send something so opposite. Beware.

Great example of a classic ingredient! I microplaned it over a simple French omelette (ala Thomas Keller) and served that along side of a red potato gratin to the Ladies before a day of taking in some horse races and everyone loved it! The product arrived promptly and the quality was great. We will definitely reorder.
