Hi there, the foam cannot be removed, so, they are not safe to use with full heat. They will be able to take some heat but not too hot as heated seats, the foam might melt in direct contact with high temperatures.

Q: Are they machine washable?

These are not machine washable. Just wash by hand and then air dry.

I also live in arizona these seem pretty durable. I did not notice rubber grips on my seat covers I purchased. I purchased my seat covers towards the end of the summer.
