This is my first time buying a gimbal, so i watched every video i could find on affordable gimbals before landing on the smooth x. I’m not a vlogger, and i don’t really make youtube videos. I just wanted to make some cool videos with my son and my family at home. So this is the experience of a complete gimbal newbie.When i first looked at the instruction insert on unfolding it looked like a daunting task. What did I get myself into?However the reality was that it was extremely easy, and i think insert overcomplicates it (see picture). I unfolded it, then paired it with the Zy Cami app, ran the firmware update ( which did take 2 tries, meaning i had to click the button again to run it after the first time it failed) and after a few minutes was all set. I was a little bit worried after i registered for the Zy cami app as it mentioned i had a Zy Cami Prime subscription for 6 months, what happens once it expires? As i read more into it ZY Cami Prime it just gives you cloud based editing and access to more video templates (see picture), neither of which i was interested in. I could not find the cost of prime mentioned, but it really wasn’t a concern for me as i never intend to use it. Also I have read that some people had trouble verifying their account during registration, i found that the count down clock was not a count down for how long a code expired but rather a count down of when u could resend another code. So i received my code a few minutes after it was sent. Even though the count down expired the code still worked, so registration was a breeze.I also read about the need for calibration, which made me a bit wary, but its actually a very simple process. Put the gimbal on a flat surface and under settings for gimbal click calibration. The calibration sequence (see video) was really cool and quick to do. From there I started using the gimbal, at first the options seemed a bit daunting, but after about an hour i was up and running. Considering I’m new to all this, the smart video templates was something i thought was really cool option, they automate the gimbal movement and allow you to take short clips including music and make it into an awesome short film in a matter of minutes. I also tested the time lapse features which were well designed, they provide a you a timer as you film telling you how long the time lapsed film will be so you know as you film how long the end result will be. Another cool thing, since i didn’t buy the combo pack is that it accepts tripods with the standard screw mount, so you can use any tripod you find (in my video the tripod used is one i repurposed from a projector i purchased seperately). Lastly the controls can be customized in the app, for me i decided to invert the joystick which moves the gimbals.Overall considering the price point, i was happy with the gimbal as newbie. The videos i took with it looked great and were a major improvement to my otherwise shaky hands, there are a lot of options and advanced features, but also the smart video templates makes it so i could create great short clips immediately without learning the advanced features.A few of the areas i thought could have been improved upon, while the gimbal has a usb c port on it for charging, it seems to be limited. When i tried to charge it with a usb c to c cable it did not work, i had to use a usb c to a cable which is also what comes in the box with the gimbal. Another thing i would of liked to see is a description in the manual of what gestures you can do. The gesture i found was make a V with your fingers or wave at camera to activate recording /follow me mode or photo taking in photo mode (dont forget to press the gestures button on the app to activate gestures first). However once i figured out the gestures, the follow me worked really well, and i like that i now have the ability to take family photos without someone being left out or having to run after activating a timer button.

I bought this gimbal for some basic video recording and for the stabilisation.Pros:- Was pleasantly surprised at the amazing build quality- Good battery- easy to use and connect to app- doesn’t require app to use image stabilisationCons:- of course the gimbal is a 2 axis which means you don’t get up and down image stabilisation.. however having said that it’s excellent for its price range.- didn’t really see a massive difference from using the gimbal with my iPhone or just holding my iPhone with my hand- charging cable is very cheap (but can easily be replaced)- if you don’t very carefully open the gimbal it can be easily broken.Conclusion:Excellent gimbal for its price, does what it says and has amazing build quality and battery.Would recommend and will update after more use

De verdad no podría imaginar que existiera una generación tan avanzada de los palos selfies que yo me quede de feria !! !
