No, they do not work with Farberware.

Q: Why doesn't Revere Ware place a steel base in the knob so it does not get stripped. I was disappointed to see how the old knob was manufactured.

What you are talking about is the nut insert. If you look at lots of knobs from different eras, you'll see that at various times they did, some in brass and some in aluminum, both of which are better than threads in the Bakelite material, which strip very easily. I believe the removal of the nut inserts corresponds to cost cutting periods where the removal made to simpler manufacturing with less materials and less manufacturing steps, for an obviously inferior end result. We haven't looked specifically at recently made Revere Ware so I can't answer whether they currently use a nut insert or not.

Q: Is the single knob for the one quart pot bought in 1961?

The Revere Ware copper bottom pans have had the same standard knob that was first used in 1939. As far as we know, the new ones of the same style sold today use the same knob. If your knobs appears visually the same as these, it should work.

Q: Does the replacement knob come with a replacement screw to hold it in place?

In short, no. These knobs are made for Revere Ware lids, which have a permanently attached screw. However, the thread pattern is common, and you can find a screw at most hardware stores. Look for an 8-32 machine screw between .25 and .35 inches long, either stainless steel or brass (so it won't rust).
