Got this for my 9 yr old grandson for Christmas. He got 1 last year and built that one on the spot. The instructions with these sets are great. He read and followed 99% without assistance. If a child likes to construct things these sets are perfect.

My husband had an Erector set eons ago (gave to our oldest grandson years ago) The 10-year-old grandson was just as excited to receive the Meccano Erector set this Christmas. Much improved with motorized movers; great value; and hours of great building ... imagining , testing, problem solving. Excellent gift for a boy OR a girl!!!

A great set to teach children the basics of building and assembly.

There are practically no instructions for this set. There’s instructions to make one project, but it does not include any written instruction. Just pictures with small numbers. I did read some other Amazon reviews suggesting that YouTube had videos, however I bought this to keep my kids occupied and off their electronics... I even went on the website to see if I could download some and the ones there were worse than the ones they came with. The actual product itself is sturdy and the box it comes with is great.
